I've heard that the part that runs underground (like a virtual subway) is fine. Also heard that the Finch line is a joke.

THREAD: I got laid off from NYMag/Vulture after 14 years. The family lost 75% of income + medical. Now mzs.press bookstore, once a side project. is do-or-die for Judith & I. I feel weird telling you this because others are doing much worse. But if you could like or share this, we'd be so grateful!

I think it's worth noting that I was located by the Bestsellers section, which included Michael Ondaatje's new poetry book. I don't remember seeing a single customer pick that one up.

So it's safe to say that I outsold Michael Ondaatje.

Ready to go at Coles.
Look at the fancy display they gave me. They even moved Staff Picks to make room for me.

They were calling for thunderstorms, but it's bright and sunny in the Beach right now. Hope you'll drop by.

Reminder for #Toronto book lovers that this is happening tomorrow.

And I'll share a little secret about this event...
I've been told that if I sell at least ten books tomorrow, they'll let me stock a few copies in the store for a while.

Do drop by and say hey.

It Was Just at Accident is a beautiful film - so humanistic, funny, theatrical.
Appreciated this serious conversation between Iranian filmmaker Jafar Panahi and Jon Stewart on the Daily Show Monday.
It's ok to talk about art seriously! www.youtube.com/watch?v=qGyZ...

Catherine O'Hara standing indoors in front of a patterned metallic wall with round lights. She is shown from the waist up, wearing a long-sleeved red textured top. Her shoulder-length blonde hair is parted near the center, and she is smiling slightly while facing the camera. The background features repeating rectangular metal tiles with warm reflections and two visible round light fixtures on the right side.

#nowwatching Duel (1971)
Yeah, early Spielberg rules. 'Jaws' with a truck is thrown around a lot (deservedly so) but this film is a lot more than that.
And to have the truck and its dricer be such a brutal force... Love it.
A film on masculinity, on violence inherit in vehicles. Machete's up. πŸ”ͺπŸ”ͺπŸ”ͺ

And a reminder that if you're closer to the Beach, you can still get Performance Reviews at the Woodbine and Queen Book City as well.
