I am shocked to learn this is actually underestimating costs, because it ignores the infrastructure costs.
This video is lowballing it.

to go with his citadel skin, a ball that looks like a trebuchet cannonball/a barbed mace would be pretty sick!

there's possibly sth to be said about the average person these days being really lonely, unable to do anything without spending money they don't have, and using escapism as a way to get out of it all
when real life is facist dystopia, you want to hop in Mr. Hot Billionaire's lamborghini for a while
i read the whole thing and find the idea that some people are like this viscerally disgusting, but then at the end i have to admit that yes... if this is how we can get people to read as a gateway, fine....
but idk if these people really want Stories. they want experiences
you are like unironically one of the most beautiful people ive ever known
i wouldnt be opposed to retreating to irc, rss, and so on. i guess the biggest issue is convincing Other People to do that. socmed is poisonous, but it creates the illusion of "company" in that Everybody Is Here. irc chats and blogs, while awesome, are sequestered by nature. i wish i had a solution
it's like i figured out what a face is. wild
ok i know im not super good at drawing but like. i happened upon sth i drew ~6+ month ago, and compared to what ive drawn recently, my stuff does look better now. crazy.

Game Parody 4Koma Grand Prix 11 (Jun. 25, '98), pg. 19
Resident Evil comic by Mahiro Nouno, from a 1998 Comic Gamest compilation.
a screenshot of the music video Planet of the Bass, it has a man in a white outfit and angel wings, a woman in a robe and a crown, the caption reads "Women are my favorite guy"
happy international women's day to all my international women
A watercolor painting of the DragonQuest slime smiling in the ferny sun-dappled undergrowth of a forest, a pair of dragonflies buzzing overhead
A meme with four images and advice for resetting them for Daylight Savings Time. Image 1 -- "A Smartphone: Leave it alone, it does its magic." Image 2 -- "Sundial: Move one house to the left." Image 3 -- "Oven: You'll need a Masters in Electronic Engineering or a hammer." Image 4 -- "Car Radio: Not worth it, wait six months."
hea'ds up
tenchi masaki from tenchi muyo dressed in a grey schoolgirl uniform walks through a scifi scanner thingie
a computer screen showing his skeleton and a DNA strand, captioned dialog reads "everything looks okay"
the space cop or whatever says "but did you know your frame is very masculine?"
tenchi says "uh, i... have a father who's a man"
it's a pleasant surprise if you find a crossdressing character in a 90s anime and the joke being told is funny
i think fandom would do well to bring back the concept of "a reading" which is different from "a headcanon". a headcanon can be anything and is total fun. a reading works with the text to come up with particular interpretations of the work, its characters, etc.
there's so much bad in the world but there's also people who lift up and carry an elderly bat around every day so he can pretend he's flying again, and that's the part of the world I think is worth fighting for
that bad huh
some drawing advice that is very serious
I think the biggest damage to the art community was the obsolescence of gallery sites (y!, deviantart, etc) and the rise of scroll-by social media, like twitter and even tumblr. Art is not ''content'', you shouldnt need to post art every day (or every month!) to be relevant. This mindset sucks.
I also posted it on my ko-fi for people who want to throw some change my way for it too (it is still free/"pay what you want" however and mostly just for if people want to!) ko-fi.com/s/b0be77992c
i look the burrito man in the eye as he continues stuffing the meat. my eyes flutter half-closed. "don't stop," i beg. the burrito is capsizing. it cannot possibly take more, but i am looking at him, the burrito man, as juices dribble at the space where hand and pork meet in unholy, squelching union
Today I Will Look The Burrito Man In The Eye and other stories of manifesting success
ffxiv is a Great cautionary tale about this tbh. as a writer i am glad to have such a clear reference of what Not to do
many games also do, and im not claiming moral superiority because i no longer play it. but i am morbidly impressed by how the game achieves feats of racism yet undiscovered by mankind on a consistent, regular schedule. which is what happens when you build a fantasy world with obvious irl analogues
hashed brown
every other day ffxiv has another racism
