William Tyler - Highway Anxiety (Official Music Video) YouTube video by Merge Records on YouTube

I just so happen to have an entire playlist on Qobuz (called "I Have No Words") for instrumentals. Easier to listen to when I'm writing and need to focus. Tyler did the soundtrack to First Cow, a splendid and quiet little movie a few years back. #MutualMusic www.youtube.com/watch?v=OdHJ...

The Wedding Gift
The Wedding Gift YouTube video by Rawlins Cross - Topic

Your Canadian pick this week is the tune I surprised my wife with live as opposed to a boombox and CD (not by Rawlins Cross, but there was a future Juno winner in the mix that day) as she walked down the outdoor aisle, 30.5 years ago. #MutualMusic www.youtube.com/watch?v=qiKQ...

This is the time that we opened for The Cramps, Danceteria, on Halloween as β€œit crawled from the south” and we only played songs about death. I wore a pink gingham bunny suit complete with bunny ears mitts and footies. The sweatshirt came off after the first song. Photo by Laura Levine. 1982? β€˜83?

The secret is to see it coming and be prepared. The other secret is to understand sometimes someone is having a worse day than you. Hopefully I was able to make it easier for the mother who in turn hopefully made it easier for her child.

I think I survived the mother, laughing and gently taking her child’s hand to hand them off. She apologized and I thanked her, said it was all right, I’d had two of my own.

Walking into a store as two women and a 3yo toddler were exiting. The child was having a tantrum, threw themselves to the floor than got up and ran, arms out straight ahead, into the crotch of the nearest adult: me.

Nothing like being on hold with @telussupport.bsky.social for 40-odd minutes and then have them hang up on me. Perhaps they had an inkling I’m about to accuse them of elder abuse?

What I’d much rather see would be a bunch of teasing Instagram videos showing Donal Logue knocking on the doors of Michael Raymond, Rockmond Dunbar, and Laura Allen.

Leave Firefly alone and bring back Terriers, you cowards.

It just happened in our household and the belief is it can be fixed, although a couple of more invasive tests are required before we know the extent of repairs. I wish you the very best results.

Mayfly by Peter Watts and Derryl Murphy Clarkesworld Science Fiction and Fantasy Magazine and Podcast.

I will try to get to this tonight. Nothing is ever the same, so I’m curious about the differences between it and the story I wrote with Peter Watts. Originally in a volume of Tesseracts than Dozois’ YBSF. (Audio version available as well at the link.) clarkesworldmagazine.com/watts-murphy...

Beyond learning things every time I read one of Cory’s threads, he inevitably dredges up a long-lost memory that reminds me of an irritation I had shuffled into a neural lockbox.

100,000 Homes: Housing the homeless saves money? Giving apartments to the chronically homeless can save taxpayer dollars, advocates say

Anderson Cooper: β€œSo it's more expensive to have a chronically homeless person living on the streets than it is to actually subsidize an apartment for them?”

Answer: β€œYes, we’re paying more as taxpayers to walk past that person on the street and do nothing.” #HousingFirst #UrbanTruth

The Trump Administration's choice to end their "Shield for the Americas" summit with the Monty Python Flying Circus theme march is inspired. I take back everything bad I ever said about the regime

NPCs have been around a helluva lot longer than video games. These inevitably are the same people who feel empathy only once they can immediately relate ("Now that I have a daughter I don't like when this happens to girls although of course only girls the same skin tone" etc).

I make fun of my elderly parents for hanging onto shit they will never need (or even want, in the bigger picture) - especially after moving into a much smaller seniors' residence - but Mom's Dyson crapped out today and she told me to just use the older one, WHICH WAS ALSO MOUNTED AND PLUGGED IN.

First they came for the trans people, and I said nothing because I wasn’t trans. Then they were like actually I’m pretty sure you are trans and I said no I’m not and they went okay well show us your penis then and I said what no get out of my face and they said that one’s a girl get her
