The United States Mint has provided a first look at the designs of two coins that will celebrate advancements in space exploration.
Nice additions to the earlier Space theme dollar coins. However, the Texas Mission Control coin design the US Mint choose to design themselves does not do honor for Mission Control.
From Only in Boston:
A 13,000-ton molasses storage tank burst 106 years ago today, flooding the North End at 35 MPH with a 40-foot wave of molasses, killing 21 and injuring 150.
Residents in the North End for decades afterwards claimed that the area smelled of molasses on hot summer days.
Unbelievably sad.

From @AstroHague: One of the hardest things to capture in a photo or video is how dynamic and captivating light is as it breaks over the horizon before sunrise.Β Blue gives way to yellow, then orange, revealing the full arc of the horizon.Β Each sunrise is a gift to behold. Merry Christmas to all!
Right back at ya ... stay #EverCuriousSpace
