Plus, if I crossed and used that button, now Iβm on the wrong side of the road to be biking with through traffic. Anyway, Iβve resubmitted the request with this information.
A car circled in red in the middle lane on the other side of the intersection.
In the mornings, Iβm where this circled car is. The middle lane. And there is no cross walk across Cherokee on that side of the street. As you can see in the video, cars turn left onto Cherokee from west end very quickly there and they do not expect pedestrians or a bike to be crossing there.
The request from today was closed within a few hours and I was told to just use the pedestrian button to activate the light. Thatβs fine when Iβm on the side of the road which I filmed the video from and I sometimes do that. But itβs not safe if Iβm on the other side of the road.
It is at west end and Cherokee road. The request was closed and transferred (βcall sent up for serviceβ) but nothing has changed about the light. So today I did another hub request for it. This is the intersection. I go through it both directions.
Time for a hub Nashville thread. Back in September I put in a hub request for a traffic light issue because a traffic light that I go through every day on my commute will not recognize bikes and I sometimes have to sit through several light cycles before a car comes and activates it.
Yeah thatβs what I do. But even when I just do one address on a street but in the comments say the whole street needs it, they just sweep only around the specific address so I have to do several addresses along the whole street
I can also see the street sweeping schedule but not the bike sweeping one as far as I can find.
I donβt see a bike sweep option. There is street sweeping but itβs a βcomplaintβ rather than a request which is a little confusing.
I swear I used to be able to submit a hub request to sweep a bike lane. Now I just have to submit remove debris at several addresses along the street. If I submit at just one address and ask for the whole street only right around that address will be swept.
A screenshot of a hub Nashville response to a Sysco truck parked in a bike lane with the message "that's the only place that they can unload the delivery trucks."
Anyway here's @hubnashville.bsky.social fully endorsing 18 wheelers illegally parking in bicycle lanes

Hereβs the video, sped up x4
Didnβt make it very far lol. Video soon. It wasnβt actually that there were lots of big branches down, but just too many patches of ice still.
Thanksβ¦ Iβm about to go check it out and Iβll take a GoPro video. Doubt Iβll make it far with that kind of warning though
I know greenways are not as high a priority as getting everyone electricity but I do usually use the Richland Creek Greenway to commute⦠anyone know its status?
It was only out for just over an hour⦠phew
Power out again π
A fort built to stay warm and sleep in during the power outage.
Power is back!! My four year old is very upset because we were going to sleep in a fort by the fire.
A salted and plowed pedestrian bridge in 2025
A snow and ice covered pedestrian bridge in 2026
January 2025 vs. January 2026. Why are we going backwards?
I know that recovery from a storm like this is complex, but clearing this bridge is not. It was salted and plowed twice last winter.
With a little forethought, maintaining this single piece of infrastructure would be the simplest and most impactful way to preserve access for people outside cars.
I hope youβre right
As of now, itβs over 91k
Thanks for the offer. Will let you know. We do have a gas fireplace so thatβs good.
Food from the fridge on the porch to stay cold
Well we had a good run but are now at 13.5 hours without power. Using my porch as a fridge.
At this point we have statements from IBEW, SEIU, and the TN AFL-CIO confirming that the rumors of union avoidance in recovery efforts are FALSE.
People are justifiably pissed. Misleading them will not help us recover.
Are you without power and need a hot meal? There are places again today that are offering free meals to those without heat.
Not to be creepy but @maxabutler.bsky.social I think you might live near me, lmk if you need anything
The Shell at 204 Whitebridge Rd has power. So do I β if youβre in West Nashville let me know if I could potentially help you in some way
