Finally a book nominie list that looks far better than what Good Reads have been looking like. I didn't expect though to see movies and games. But it's a nice twist. I'm reposting this because we need to force cycling in different books.

The logic throughlines I go through to get to these points...
I think the restriction that happened was "Do I have the skills to draw it and have fun?" Because the origonal idea was to just go full sea dragon but I was struggling with some concepts. So I went "humanoid" for the merfolk because I knew I could draw that and have fun with it, but still beastal.
For Vtuber: I wanted the avatar be as monster girl as possiable but still be reconized as merfolk.
For charaters in general: It depends on the world I'm putting that charater in. In most cases though Beast folk are more beastial and humanoids are more humanoid but still "alien" in verious features.
Wow, some of these people are getting so petty because Libraries are actually trying to fight back to keep existing and giving to the community. That's a new level of low.

Have a new image to add to the Short story collection WIP. Short story: 2,661 words 3rd draft. Flash Fiction 1: 858 words 2nd draft. Have 3 more flash fictions to work on drafts #2 for. Figured out the order of these too, Will be making an Manuscript template for it soon.

It honestly feels good to actually have a voice again in a situation like this. Sure it's scary still due to everything, but I'm tired of not having that voice to tell people "Fuck off, let us be artists and let us be politcal."
I didn't realize this was going on, thank you for informing me. I reposted this and also filled it out. This gives me hope that we can actually get through this.
Supporting other artists is not just sharing other people's work. It's also supporting legislation and industry practices that support them continuing it.

I've actually held off in actually talking about the world on bluesky for the fact that it's more complicated in a shorter format.
*shrugs* I've been building this world since about 2021-2022. It was more of a way to get out of a writing slump that I was having with a different world that I was writing a novel for (still working on rough draft stage). Each short story explores something different within the same world.
Defeantly figuring out stage. The only thing I know that is the throughline is the Cursed World setting that they're all in. Even timeline are different for each.
As of right now, not yet. This push for the Anthology was just started 10 days ago. So it's still pretty early in development.
For this one It's "Dystopian Fantasy Horror" due to the setting I'm using for each short story (same world), as to how many? I'm not sure yet as most of them are actually closer to flash fiction so I would have to compile them into the Kobo EPUB format to decide on that detail.
First Draft of the Horror story I mentioned earlier is done! Now going through a second read through edit before beta readers. Also planning to do the same thing for other older short stories that I'm using for this anthology.
.... I should be mortified but this honestly has me thinking that maybe all of us artists are strange in some way that break normie and other artists brains.
These situations are getting worse and worse. I do hope you get your other book off that because holy shit. I really hope it doesn't get to the point it is with the Visual arts right now.
Eikami done in hatching/Crosshatching and some stippling and scumbling. Done in the style similar to Berserk's but not quite. Still happy with the form. Fun fact: the pose is based on a pin up pose with the girl is holding a landline phone in a similar way.
Done in pencil and pen. Wanted to get back into hatching and crosshatching and this felt good to do after so long. The Charater in question is Eikami, the knight in black.

Working on this short story revulized my want to get something published. So I'm thinking of adding this to a ebook Anthology idea I have for a Dystopian Fantasy Horror world called the Cursed World. This will be the outlier for it's set in years later from the rest of the short stories.
New update with horror short story idea:
Overworked Dad on vacation with family to forgotten castle/gothic manor on seaside. Keeps seeing a draconic-fin being dragged and thinks it's stress making him hallucnate.
Accidently found @nightmind.bsky.social On youtube. I keep watching his content on how good horror works. also read Broascca on july 4th.
Now I might write a horror short story version of my Vtuber-sona stealing books from forgotten places while in the POV of a Rando on their Beach Vacation.
Down the Dresden Files Rabbithole while also working through the rewrite of the first chapters up to the main part that I'm keeping for my book. Slow and steady, but I'm getting there.
