Musk: “I mean we store the energy in antimatter!”
Board: “And then what? We ship antimatter to earth?”
Musk: “mars”
Board: “Sorry we ever doubted you! It all makes sense now!”
Musk: “This merger will take us to Kardashev II, which means we will be capturing all 10^26 watts of energy from the sun!”
SpaceX Board: “The earth needs 10^17 watts of energy, how will we survive?”
Musk: “CP Violation!”
Board: “look we talked about this and you need to shut Grok down!”
I had to give up checking my Gmail the other day because I couldn’t figure out the captcha, and then couldn’t figure out the second and third ones it gave me either
A label printer that is printing a sticker with a frog in black and the words Don’t Obey is red, in the style of Shepard Fairey’s Andre the Giant stickers
I got a two-color thermal label printer.
The labels visually pop way more than black and white stickers
Here is an Internet Archive skill for Claude Code: github.com/rajbot/inter...
Install it and then you can prompt Claude to:
"Search Internet Archive for vintage computer manuals"
and then
"Download the first five of them"
So far, neither Claude Code with Opus 4.5 and Google Gemini with 3.0 Pro think they can one-shot photoshop.
I propose a new metric called Photoslop, which measures how closely an AI coding tool can one-shot Photoshop in a single prompt.
I love the pattern of compiling rust libraries and cli tools to webassembly and hosting them on a static webpage so people can easily try them out.
I needed a MPEG-TS to MP4 converter library, and now you can try it here: www.bitstream.io/ts-to-mp4/
Was this violence always there, but less visible when it was targeted to only Black people?

Ok, are you using ffmpeg? I made a rust library for MPEG TS-> MP4 conversion to make it easier to deploy as a single binary in AWS lambda
@jimray.bsky.team is there a way developers can embed Bluesky videos? Right now for my Slack app I am downloading the MPEG-TS stream, containerizing it as MP4, and uploading to Slack. ^
Is there a better way?
Bluesky videos don't unfurl in Slack, so I added video importing to my bluesky-helper slack app.
It now both unrolls threads and imports videos into Slack for you:
github.com/rajbot/blues...
I just looked it up and sadly the event is discontinued. The video I posted was from 2023, the 20th anniversary and end of the program:

SF Center For The Book does steamroller linocuts every year, with an old-school steamroller that actually runs on steam
In terms of distributed social networks, which side has credibility here? And what is
that credibility based on?
I didn't realize the API silently paginates, so added a button to trigger unfurl of the next page of posts:
I want to add video unfurling to this tool. Do Bluesky videos have mp4 versions available, or do I need to frame the HLS stream somehow?
I tested a few users, and unless you are a very large account, Google only seems to have 2-4 posts indexed for most accounts. They have indexed only 3 of my posts:
On twitter, people figured out how to @-mention threadreaderapp, so maybe it is worth supporting that method too.. I like not polluting the thread with bot commands though.
Happy to help with an app if Bluesky wanted to host it!
@jimray.bsky.team thought you might be interested in this use of the Bluesky API + Slack API ^
What do you think about an official Bluesky slack app for rich unfurls and thread unrolling?
I made* a Bluesky-to-Slack thread unroller:
Instructions for installing it in your own Slack + aws lambda account are here: github.com/rajbot/blues...

Mary Meeker said that Waymo hit 27% market share in SF, surpassing Lyft earlier this year:

Our NYE tradition: making donations to @aclu.org, @archive.org, @eff.org, @msf.ca, @ppfa.org, @raicestexas.bsky.social, @splcenter.org, the SF Food Bank, and @walksf.org
A few more of those bsky handles resolve now compared to last year.
Also, this year we are adding @propublica.org to the list!
