My years of living with psychosis reshaped my view of the world, so in a way I'm grateful for the experience. Check out my writing here: democracy.leaflet.pub

All the happiest marriages I'm aware of also have a huge amount of strife, it's just human nature. And most marriages I'm aware of sound awful to be a part of, I know a ton of divorced people, and most of the ones still together are just "for the kids", or more likely can't survive without spouses $

Same thing happened to me, took a long time but now I almost never think about her. I've come to the opinion that expecting 2 people to spend the rest of their lives together is often a very unreasonable expectation.

I can imagine even if Hormuz opens again, India or Indonesia might be desperate enough for oil that they try to just force tankers to give them oil, and if anything like that starts to happen, it's kinda over for the global economy

I think everyone with a brain is basically in full panic mode right now, including everyone in the Chinese government. It's kinda impossible to game out what happens when "no oil a month from now" is a possibility.

There's no attempt to think about the difference between "oil prices doubled" and "cargo ships have no access to fuel" or what happens as a result

Autocorrect seems to intentionally be getting worse over time, I've had many instances recently where I correctly type a very common word everyone knows and then phone changes it to something else for no reason. Also my phone's keyboard dictionary is missing a lot of common words.

Ok your post made me read Wikipedia about Puritans, and my main takeaway is before social media people spent way too much time thinking about sin and salvation. Other takeaway is, Puritans seemed very "not your dogma, our dogma", which morphed into various things by 1800

At that time, New England had so many different kinds of Christianity that I think many people had given up on "only my version is correct". Not sure how correct that is though

Not sure if I agree with that, weren't a lot of the founders deists or inspired by them? Martin Luther was writing after Columbus, and I don't think that was a coincidence. By 1776 a lot of people were souring on religious dogma.

Huge "no government is valid unless my subsect of Protestantism runs it" energy here

They should also take over Istanbul and rename it Constantinople, call it something fresh the chuds can get on board with, Eastern Roman Empire perhaps

And it's weird to accuse China of not doing more to guarantee security for the region when everyone freaks out if their much smaller navy goes near the Philippines

Fair, he didn't say exactly that, but he fails to point out that "THEIR energy supply chains" are crucial for our everything supply chains. He seems to think in terms of outdated power analysis and neglects major consequences.

I'm not sure if there's more than 10 clothing factories north of Mexico, and probably zero textile mills, so yeah, buckle up

All of Asia having no fuel, what could possibly go wrong. These people are so unaware of everything. They're barely aware that refrigerators are made in factories, and that they have many parts made in other factories.

Ok but, you know, most people are objectively terrible, they post terrible stuff, which makes every social media site terrible. You can't fix people but you can change the way they interact here, best of luck with that.

It's bad but not everything is Salt Typhoon, pretty much everything has been compromised for years. There's evidence China can turn off our power grid, were they to choose to do that. thehackernews.com/2026/03/cisc...

The result is not "haha now the USA is the world's sole superpower", it's much closer to "no one has access to food, medicine, or clothes"

You seem to be typing this with very little regard for what happens when Asia has no fuel for ships or other stuff. They make most of our consumer goods and parts for a ton of other stuff.

I would not have written a book called debt the first 5000 years, but the dawn of everything dealt with a lot of archeological and other evidence that is not covered in most books. Trashing any speculation of what humans did 10k years ago doesn't seem well intentioned

The entire field of law deals with selectively applied rules which may have good or bad reasons for existing, but me, a lawyer, would like to point out that someone else's academic field is fake.

But don't they have a vested interest in saying that, especially if the truth is a bunch of Air Force officers royally fucked up

Similar to Russian roulette but the key difference is every chamber has a bullet.

The nature of video is that no one has time to shoot, edit more than a few per day so you have to be more thoughtful about what you're posting. Popular posts here might get 1000 replies and no one cares that no one has time to read 1000 replies.

It's more about these platforms being terrible by design. A big problem is we interpret "freedom" to mean anyone can post anything 1000x per day no matter how unhelpful, irrelevant, or hostile it is. There should be a limit on posts per day.

It's not apartheid bro, it's complex realities, your 3rd tier IQ can't grasp our 8 tiered racial hierarchy. Sephardic Jews can vote for now, but only because it's convenient for us.

Happened to me the other day here, someone with 10k followers didn't agree with my post, so they call me a huge dumbfuck and then their followers try to score points on me by misreading my posts and saying I said things that I didn't say.

I blame online culture, where people think the only 2 options are "i agree with this person completely" or "this person is slightly wrong about a complex nuanced issue, so they must be the dumbest human ever to live".

Once in a while I search online for newer artists coming on tour in my huge metro area, with preference for small or medium size venues, and it's super bleak. Everything is $500 for stadium Kendrick or $1200 for a festival 3 hours away and a hotel there would cost ???
