Waltham Forest Lib Dems chair @libdemalex86.bsky.social on why we canβt trust anything Labour says!
Council Leader Grace Williams promised a fair deal for Waltham Forest if a Labour government was voted in. Instead, weβve got more cuts & need an emergency bailout!
Waltham Forest deserves better!
Waltham Forest deserves better and Liberal Democrats will offer a more responsible alternative in May
βLabour likes to boast that Waltham Forest Council is well run and financially responsible. That claim has now completely collapsed as it seeks an emergency government bailout.β
Local people are paying the price for Labourβs financial mismanagement says WF Lib Dems chair @libdemalex86.bsky.social
Waltham Forest Lib Dems chair @libdemalex86.bsky.social documents the extensive problem of #potholes in his local Higham Hill area. This borough-wide issue has resulted in Waltham Forest being given a RED rating for the dire state of its roads. 1/3
The @libdemvoice.org piece introducing the Jenkinsite Group has just been published!
It was submitted last week, so the membership count is slightly out of date (it says we have 94 members, but we're currently at 119).
It's great to see the group launch into the wider Lib Dem family!
And over 100 now! All credit to you @libdemjack.bsky.social for getting this going.
Thanks for creating this group Jack. Hopefully the beginnings of an exciting discussion forum and possibly moreβ¦
Britain is not broken. Yes, it can be governed better and Labour has failed since being elected. But itβs not broken. What harms Britain is self-serving, opportunistic politicians like Robert Jenrick whose rhetoric only aims to divide society. His defection only strengthens the need to defeat Reform
Step one to honouring the memory of #RoyJenkins - having him added to the membership card options!
Email Lib Dem Help (help@libdems.org.uk) and request that he be added!

Iβm fully in on that idea! Iβm just not sure where to begin.
I feel itβs a term that needs to be brought back into common use. In fact, Iβd go so far as to say it deserves an historical discussion group on the great man, the social reforms of the sixties, and the ideological views that you have outlined here.
Today is the first day of Hanukkah π, the Jewish Festival of Lights. It should be a day of celebration and joy and yet, instead, Jewish communities everywhere are faced with new heartache following todayβs horrific terror attack in Bondi Beach, Sydney. 1/2
Camden New Journal's Richard Osley reports on Camden Labour leader Richard Olszewski fleeing his ward.
The leader of Camden Labour has fled Fortune Green ward (where his colleague is the brilliant Lib Dem Nancy Jirira) to a safer ward across the borough.
Labour clearly feeling scared of the Camden Lib Dems team.
Congratulations!!
Every word! We should protect the BBCβs independence and not give in to the pressure of another leader. No shock to see Truss, Braverman and Dorries call for the licence fee to be scrapped, or that Huddlestone and Badenoch are claiming institutional bias. Davie biased against the right? Come on.

I donβt think we can rule anything out at this point π
The bar has suffered there. Each person probably would have bought two more beers if he hadnβt destroyed Humphries with such speed.
#Homelessness is all around us. People are literally dying on our streets! Did you know that 1611 homeless people died in 2024? Walthamstow Lib Dem activist Alan Jones went to a London vigil organised by the Museum of Homelessness (@ourmoh.bsky.social ) on Thursday to highlight this tragedyπ§΅1/4
βA phased removal would help mitigate the financial impact on residentsβ.
An absolute insult. What would help mitigate the financial impact is a reversal of this decision!
It's notable how different this 'fragmentation' is from, e.g., that of first half of 2019, which saw big gains for independents too. Now it's much more repolarisation around two different parties rather than across the board fragmentation.
