It was later installed in the British 002 prototype for its first flight at twice the speed of sound and for other test flights. Early versions of the Olympus were fitted to the Avro Vulcan bomber and a variant was developed for the TSR2 supersonic strike aircraft. This formed the initial basis for the Concorde power plant.
