US investigators think the US bombed the girls school. Not mentioned in the article is the list of targets and their co-ordinates was drawn up by AI β which was probably, predictably, wrong.
My husband is also allergic.
Albee is a hypoallergenic breed. He had no reaction when we went to collect him, so I figured it was safe. Then when we got Nyusha, she was so cute, I forgot to actually ask E if it was OK. Again, no reaction.
I reckon the problem was the UK, not cats! π
She'd like that!
Nyusha asleep on the duvet, paws on my leg
Slept badly last night. Nyusha usually sleeps on @eliotlovell.bsky.social overnight, but as I'm her second best human, she wanted to sleep on me while he's away.
I can't tolerate a cat on me while I'm trying to sleep, but she wouldn't take no for an answer. Was cute but frustrating for both of us!
The free weight bars at my gym never say what weight the bar is, so it counts as 0. On the machines, I write down whatever the highest weight says. It's only to remember what I did last time, so doesn't matter if I get it a bit wrong.
cute, provided claws aren't involved :)
haha she got quite cross with me when I pushed her off for the 4th or 5th time. Then she woke me up for breakfast at 06:30 by miowing in my face!
just curious⦠what happens if you put it into AI yourself? how bad is it?
I tend to write a sentence, then get AI to check it. never sure if itβs making my German better or worse
Curious how many people could potentially be arrested for spying for Israel. There's plenty of "friends of Israel" politicians who are in Israel's pocket.

the biggest surprise for me is that Andrew Neil has friends.
that sounds like fun.
thoughts and prayers! :)
I had a good year, my Steuerberater told me to spend some money! So FT was a way of doing that.
But it gets worse⦠I paid about 250 a year and still didn't have access to part of the paper. I'd often get the screen telling me I have to upgrade to premium :/
I used to pay for FT, but the gift link it gave me only allowed 3 clicks. For this reason, I never shared links on social media. Didn't see the point.
I think some people can send gift links that allow more than 3, prob based on how much they pay for their Abo.
My favourite is the one I can find!
(I almost never write, because it's likely I'll never be able to read it again.)
Dear Shabana, I notice today that you referred to me in your speech on immigration at the IPPR think tank. You said: βA party leader should not be on the beaches of France encouraging people to make a perilous crossing on small boats.β I suppose I shouldnβt be surprised especially after the hateful Labour campaign in Gorton and Denton, but this is just the latest in a string of lies peddled by a discredited Government who intentionally fan the flames of racism and division. When I went to Calais, I was not there to encourage people to travel to the UK. I was there to see at first hand the suffering your Government and successive Governments have done in demonising migrants in a pathetic bid to pander to the base instincts of Reform and the flawed strategy of Morgan McSweeney. As you will know, if you even bothered to research my visit instead of taking Reform talking points, I was there to witness the brutality of families living in tents in freezing temperatures. I filled water tanks and picked up litter. What that visit did do is confirm my belief that if we are to smash the boat gangs and stop the boats, we need to offer safer and managed routes for migrants to come to this country. Showing compassion as a politician is not a crime. In fact, we need to see much more of it. It reminded me of a young MP who in October 2015 spent three days in Lesbos helping migrants fleeing war-torn Syria. She posted videos on X, talked about handing out water and croissants to refugees and food parcels. When she returned to the UK, she wrote a very moving piece in the New Statesman. She said βwe have to work with our European partners and create new, safe, and legal routes for refugees to get to Europe. We cannot abandon them to their fate, left as prey for smugglers whilst risking death on the seas.β She said βmaybe we can make ourselves feel better by saying no-one is making them get on the boats. And again, the Home Secretary is not entirely wrong when β¦
Dear Shabana,
Let's clear some things up around migration and remember we're talking about people's lives.
Reminds me of the pig in Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy youtu.be/5HLy27bK-wU?...
Tax exiles stuck in London desperately trying to get *back* to Dubai to avoid becoming tax resident in the UK? Just great stuff. giftarticle.ft.com/giftarticle/...
I wonder, would UK tax exiles who've spent their last years in Dubai be eligible for immediate access to welfare and housing after the gov has paid* for their flights back?

I feel like @bowlofchalk.bsky.social seems to be avoiding using the word "trans" in this video about an aristocrat who begins presenting as a woman at the age of 49.
No "great intrigue" by today's standards, and no need to continue using male pronouns
This is why I write so much about pavement parking
:(
That's not going to end well for Merz. Because Trump absolutely can't be trusted.
I find it weird how there are such strong protections for employees, yet employers still try every possible trick, often breaking the law in the process. I don't remember this kind of nonsense happening so much in UK
π―!
If fewer companies and politicians had cowtowed to him earlier; we wouldn't be where we are now :(
Some years ago, I bought a house and renovated it including loft conversion for my bedroom. The first morning I woke with the roof windows open and a blackbird perched on the TV aerial singing its little heart out. It was such a wonderful way to be awoken.
Yours⦠is not so pretty :)
I used to live in Wimbledon and remember when they first started testing trams from there.
Overnight a Thameslink platform became a tram platform and sleepy me didn't see the new signs the first morning. Why does my train not look like a train?
No pics tho, and no tracks were bashed :)
"counter drone helicopters" sounds like fighting a cloud of midges with a baseball bat π€
Well this is awkward. The same country that hasn't arrested Israeli politicians wanted for war crimes per its legal obligations has summoned Iran for fighting back.
Germany, grow a spine!
