someone who doesn't want to see nsfw stuff can/will be shown it anyway. someone who creates/writes nsfw work has no control over who sees it. placing the burden of "now You have to make sure None of ur art is seen by the wrong person" on artists was never fair and is an impossible ask on today's net

lrp i think scrolling websites have also played so much into the destruction of nsfw fanworks. it used to be harder to come across nsfw stuff if you weren't looking for it - had to make an 18+ da account, ygallery, etc... now it's all just Out there, theres 0 safeguards for fans or for the artists

I think the biggest damage to the art community was the obsolescence of gallery sites (y!, deviantart, etc) and the rise of scroll-by social media, like twitter and even tumblr. Art is not ''content'', you shouldnt need to post art every day (or every month!) to be relevant. This mindset sucks.
