There isn't much need for rental housing on the island, especially in the winter, those that do rent want the cheapest spot they can find...that wouldn't be ours.
Summer waterfront cottage rental is whole other ballgame.
Nope, we want privacy more than income, but we think we'll make a small apartment/studio over the planned large separate garage. Any rental would be short term during summer, would be an amazing spot for birdwatchers.
It's very rural and the house will be about 700' from the road.
After some discussion we are thinking of changing our plans and building the main cottage/house first. We have a feeling if we build the small one/bunkie first...that's all we'll build.
So, plans might be now for a larger cottage with a much different shape. Working on it...
My brain will never be the same now...
