Yeah, I also think people have an skewed perspective of what is a "significant negative event." So much emotional abuse gets so normalised that people can't even recognise it for what it is. The amount of people who I know who will downplay really horrible shit that's happened to them...

Complex trauma also just doesn't work that way. It doesn't matter if you have no significant events in your past, did you feel safe to be yourself growing up? Did your nervous system have lots of time to rest & recover? Did you have to change parts of yourself to survive? That's what matters
Someone was opining to me earlier that they don't like the fact they clearly have trauma responses but have no significant negative events in their history & if there's one idea I'd really like to kill it's that you have to "earn" your trauma
