one writer's workshop ended with two guys anonymously writing mean notes on my manuscript but it was easy to figure out who - I didn't write for a year but it felt oh-so-good when I later did a two-book, six-figure deal with the manuscript they dissed

When I was little, the U.S. military came to our home at gunpoint and took me and my family away. We were imprisoned for years in barbed wire camps simply because we were Japanese American. I have spent my life telling that story, hoping it would never be repeated.
Makes me grateful to be happily partnered.

The mom from "Humans" is on "Rivals" and it nearly drove me mad trying to figure out what I knew her from until I got it.
It is SO good
I loved this show SO MUCH!
Had my cataract surgery today and have never in my life felt so much like a trussed turkey on an assembly line (doc & anesthesiologist were lovely but everyone had perfected the pretend-we-care routine). Made me nostalgic for my retinal surgery.
I love things like doing laundry because the machines are doing all the work and I can pretend I am working.

Yes yes yes! Note that this book is hard to find (Amazon may have a few copies left, but no other bookseller seems to) but ebooks and the recorded version are available.
In short:
* there is very little the author can do on social media to sell books
* the Good News Firehose is just as detrimental as the Bad News Firehose
* taking a walk >opening your feed
* if publishing is hard for you right now, you're not alone
* keep writing; we need your stories 14/14
I've had to walk out of movie for the same reason. Blaringly loud, even with ear plugs.

A group of us were exchanging "odd school lunch" stories ... mine was having to bring a large white turnip in my lunch.
Think 'cult.' It's the same sort of thing. Some will believe until they die, never mind mountains of evidence to the contrary or even their own mistreatment.
Always remember the story of your mother and how she would take you out for school lunch.
