I still do these and would love to do more of them

Always feel like this paper is too cool to be tossed after Xmas!
@dietpi.com Always runs great on my little knock off Orange Pi SBCs. Really love this distro. Bare bones, but also very friendly when you wanna install or add something. Also love that all of the networking works on my OPi3b. I dont wanna type dmesg |grep -i brcm again for a while.
I have no idea, friend bought it with 200 miles, came to me at about 300 with a roasted clutch. This is a 790 clone, they're known for getting junk in the oil jet and burning up.
No scoring in the jugs, but we did see foreign material. Also the jugs are part of the crankcase for extra fun...
can i pre-order for another round? also congrats on selling out!
Finally have an english manual. Engine looks 99% fine, but there were some bits on top of the pistons and oil coming out the exhaust. Sump backed up and filled crankcase with oil. Not sure if oil rings are toast, or if crap fell off spark plug and im wasting time lol.
long story, but a friend came to me with bad clutch at 300miles on odo. New clutch in, installed incorrectly (my fault, but also kove could not provide a service manual... put two fiber disks in the shallow trench like jap bikes but only one on ktm clone). Shit all in engine so rebuild to be safe
It feels like God is punishing me.
I don't need another bike but I'm tempted. "wahhh ground clearance I'm keeping my KLR that I was gonna keep anyhow"
Borrowed @kaitlingossett.bsky.social versys 300 (kle300) for one weekend and it came back a bit altered π¬ I found myself thinking it could do for a few changes to make a better off-road machine, and kawasaki released the kle500! Look forward to test riding one to see if it's a worthy upgrade
A proper chain protector for the rear sprocket on an xt www.printables.com/model/140359...
Life has been wild and I forget to post here, but I have been down the CAD rabbit hole. Custom dash for the XT. Probably works for a TW, but haven't tried that yet. www.printables.com/model/141238...
I don't know if I posted this, but first "real" ride, and then rebuilding the carbs on the side of the road and almost heat stroking myself.
No, it should have a gasket, then phenolic spacer, then another gasket
Yet another shakedown ride proving that I shouldnt have tried to make this a runner, and just tear it down. The ghost of janky fixes had the bike revs hanging at 4k rpm. Blew out an intake gasket, that was double stacked. By the time Im done un-f*cking this bike itll be new anyhow....
I dew up, then modified the original electronics plate from the H1 to accommodate new digicals, saves space, weight, and also lets me sell the working oem bits. I'm putting most of my stuff here if you want to download. www.printables.com/@gbgarage_58...
Doing some side work on a Suzuki Savage. Regular maintenance on these is tightening the head bolts! Went in for an oil leak issue, and found some worn rocker pads. Waiting on parts from Japan now, unfortunately not overnight.
I posted a while back that I was making my own brake caliper adapter for the 1974 Kawasaki H1 project. I had it materialized by SendCutSend. They threaded it and powder coated it. Less than one week turnaround. I made some extras, have one left that i will sell cheap, with necessary hardware.
Firmly in float height hell. Repop floats, can't go by measuring from the body, need to use a jar, needle sticks, scream, repeat. About to just chuck these dinosaurs and order flatsides.
Im looking forward to the next one and happy to help esp if beautiful paint work is in the mix (Im not spoiling it, go watch nerds)
My good friend and fellow vintage bike enthusiast @ixellent.bsky.social has been slowly working through every bit of this NX250. This is their debut on YouTube, and a damn good one if I do say so myself!
Plan is to use 6061 aluminum, there are a few remote cnc services, seems like maybe around 20 bucks each to have them machined, bead blasted, and anodized + shipping
Weird and fucked.
V2 for the H1 / H2 / Z1 Ninja 300 caliper adapter
FINISH THE JOB
It's a curse! Even if I am satisfied with something, its on to the next π
If you had a 15 year old who said this to you and seemed to believe it, youβd be up all night panicking about what itβs going to cost you in tutors to get them into the 2nd-to-last ranked public university in your state.
