What if Peele gave John Landis a "Twilight Zone" to direct but the plot of the episode is that a mysterious stranger offers someone fame and fortune but the price will be that three people will die prematurely because of his actions?
That Richard Littlejohn was not convicted of murder is a miscarriage of justice, and justice should not be delayed

I've mentioned that I stand by all queer people, and that includes the large gay men who talk about being large gay men over and over again but y'know.
Bears repeating.
MULDER: ever heard of the meth alien?
I remember people getting mad at me for pointing this out at the time but as great as Breaking Bad was the fifth season was uneven and had more than a few unforced errors (and I say this as someone who still thinks it was one of the best shows ever)
Difficult to argue that point.

Failure isn't the word I would use, for sure. But it definitely does have what I call the "Falling Down" Problem: the creators were a little bit too good at their job.

Holy fucking shit. I need to hear this.
There's a genuine point being made in the original post. The writers themselves admitted that the audience rooted for Walter in ways that made them reevaluate what they were doing.
Paul Thomas Anderson, pick up the phone.
itβs frankly bizarre that there hasnβt been an excessively romanticised biopic made about the career of dino de laurentiis. make it a satire and cast it full of the usual hollywood comedy people doing impressions of various filmmakers, itβs a no brainer.
If John Landis didn't have a lot of powerful friends there's no way we don't have a documentary about the goddamn "Twilight Zone: The Movie" fiasco." That would be the film Hollywood does not want to be made.
It feels like there is no way this version of "Dune" would have not been the biggest disaster in the history of the industry had it started production. In an alternate timeline, this documentary is just the first act of a much longer and more harrowing movie.
I am trying to be coy here with the toxic masculinity aspect of the creative world but Jodorowsky literally says in this movie that he's "raping" Frank Herbert's novel "with love." He is very explicit about this.
Also Magma rules. What a fucking band.
I was not expecting Amanda Lear speculation in this but so it goes.
Right now I'm watching "Jodorowsky's Dune" which is a really good movie to watch if you're thinking about how science fiction often passes along fascist ideas and how Great Directors are sometimes indistinguishable from cult leaders.
SURREAL FACT: Peter was beloved by Pink Floyd, so after he died, the members set up some funds for his children. That allowed Naomi to pursue acting. Without Pink Floyd making that decision we probably would not have "Mulholland Drive."
You can hear Peter Watts, father of Naomi, on this recording.

I would agree and would also say that "Better Call Saul" works as a corrective.
All the wrong people have imposter syndrome.
If anyone is up for boosting, Bandcamp is holding a fundraiser for the Trans Continental Pipeline to help trans people escape from Kansas!
Okay but I did lie a lot in my 20s because I am an alcoholic and that's what we do.
hahaha um
Hegseth needs to stand trial after this as a war criminal. Between this attack and the girls' school, there's no ambiguity. He is responsible for mass murder and must be held accountable.
I hope Red Panda has an apprentice or three. She's going to have to retire (again) at some point, and that can't be the end of tall unicycle and bowls at halftime.
