The San Francisco City Charter requires that the SFMTA submit a two-year, balanced budget in even-numbered years. Within this process, the SFMTA is looking for rider input at their upcoming Community Budget Open Houses.

Thank you to all the riders and advocates who supported SFTR and Muni Now Muni Forever's work to push back against service cuts throughout 2025. Not only are riders satisfied, it's reported that January 2026 Muni ridership bounced back and has the highest January average daily boardings since 2019.
Seventy-eight percent of riders surveyed last year said Muni service was excellent or good, according to Mayor Daniel Lurie.
