Be careful with your words people. The president is trying to remove Lisa Cook using a dubious maneuver. To say she has already been removed or has been “fired” is speaking an aspirational hatchet into existence before “cause” or legality has been established
Erasing the stories of marginalized people is not about comfort or even embarrassment — it is about maintaining a social order that legitimizes oppression by downplaying its existence.
That Senior Senator from California who was forcibly removed and handcuffed while being held face down on the ground represents almost 12 percent of the US population.
That is the point of the column

It’s a sham. An attempt to create the illusion of progress for conservative causes by hurling around a wrecking ball.
The GOP hates that it was lifted to cabinet level by Carter. Hates that it focuses on equity for ALL. And This admin cares little about rural, disabled or low income kids that benefit from DOE programs- even in red states
With closure of the department of education to give responsibility back to states, have you heard states clamoring to get that responsibility back? Even red states? Nope.
Meanwhile 1/3 of American 8th graders are behind in math, reading and science. And lets remember the disproportionate way states doled out money to preferential projects and favored school districts before Title 1 oversight made sure more funding flowed to low income areas in urban AND rural areas.
Someone is going to write a book about this administration called “A Little Disturbance” and the irony will be lost on no one.
So feeding children nutritional food is no longer a priority. This is not about making America great …..or prosperous……or efficient.

….aims to serve (typo). All that is to say— budgets can and often do grow and contract at the same time. If this crew was really interested in streamlining govt and finding fiscal efficiency they would have sent in accountants and experts instead of software engineers who just got out of HS.
