Screw it, let's just throw some cattle fodder in boiled water and call it a tea. Was worth a shot because it's real cheap. Is it good? Well, it's grassy, no lemongrass but sweet enough to get by. Could see it as tea blend filler.

We also went down the Blue Ridge Tunnel. Walking down a 4,200 foot long tunnel from thev1850s with zero lighting is a cool and trippy experience in a way photos can't capture.

Running water sounds from underground that I can't stop, a beaver's worst nightmare (Lost River over by Natural Bridge, runs underground through the karst)

My friends and I also went to the titular Natural Bridge, which is very tall. Need some art of big Castor leaning on this.

Devil's Marble Yard in Natural Bridge, VA, literally an 8-acre, 600-foot-tall rock scramble. Safe? Lolno. Fun? Oh yes.

Knew this was coming. Pearl Jam, Smashing Pumpkins, Collective Soul, Faith No More, Red Hot Chili Peppers, probably others.

This was a good one, it is sweet and smooth like the bag promises. Was a touch too floral on the initial sips, but settled in nicely.

This has ironically made them my go-tos for brewing in the afternoon; they're quick to brew, quick to cool to the temperature I prefer, and because the steeping time is so short they don't leach out much caffeine.

I looked up how to prepare it, and decided I didn't want to buy more cups just for one specific drink that's not displacing coffee or tea for me.

Harder to answer, actually, thinking it over there's surprisingly few bands I enjoy that peaked in the 80s vs. crossing the 70s or 90s. Def Leppard, Tears for Fears, and a lot of scattered singles.

The result was very light, but not in a weak way. There were only some small floral notes but it worked well to warm me, and proved fairly satisfying. May try it with jasmine or lemon or the other classic green tea pairings.

Yerba Mate is the third caffeinated hot beverage, and has its own special way to prepare it with special equipment I don't have. So I didn't do that, and just prepared it as a green tea, with only a nod to a cold water wash first.

Looks like a health tracking watch? Idk, I'd only recommend those if you are specifically training for some sort of cardio activity.

That said, I think gongfu style steeping would be more popular if it was called kung fu style lol. I'm only now realizing it's the same term (meaning "done with skill")

That said, I may not be the best spokesman, because man it's looking like I just can't get with Chinese black teas. There's a bitter note high in my mouth that messes everything up, I can't get around. Happened with the last one, happened with this one. bsky.app/profile/cast...
