Hoping this isn't too late for California's film and tv industry. I'm generally not a fan of film/tax incentives because it's always a race to the bottom. However, tax incentives in CA and NY have been proven to be beneficial, vs how they work in most other states.

It's interesting that neither Fanhome or even STO has a 100% accurate version of the 25th century nacelles on the Stargazer, Titan-A/Enterprise G, and Duderstadt. They all lack the grid texture on the dark areas of the nacelles. #StarTrek

Winds are set to pick up again. It's wonderful to see my fellow angelenos coming together & support each other in these hard times. Yes, LA gets fires every year, but this is far from normal. We're living in a new climate era & unless we start doing something about it, it's only going to get worse.
The joy I felt during those rides, basking in the beauty of the hills, the homes, and the sea. I found a lot of myself in those times. A lot of my character as an adult was built there. I'm grateful that we're still safe. But the city, my home, isnt in the clear.
These fires are hitting close to home, figuratively and literally. LA is my home. 40 of my 46 years of life I've lived here. I've spent countless hours and as many miles cycling through Pacific Palisades and Malibu.
- These fires are the result of no rain since May & sustained high winds. Blaming Newsom or LA Mayor Bass for it is just plain stupid. It's like blaming Desantis for the hurricanes that hit Florida, or Abbott for winter storms. Every expert who knows anything all say that climate change is to blame.
- No, raking our forests would not have prevented this.
- The total acreage of damage is relatively small compared to previous fires. LAFD and LA County Fire, Forest Fire, etc are all doing AMAZING work.
- No, we don't get water from "the north" and no, Gavin Newsom didn't prevent us from getting water from "the north". Our water comes from reservoirs via the Colorado River and snow melt from the Sierra Nevadas.
- No, Jewish space lasers did not cause the fires.
The hydrant water system was seeing FOUR times their demand for 15 hours straight. Also, they were the sole providers of water because the winds were so high that they couldn't fly planes and helicopters to drop water.
- The fire hydrants ran out of water. Technically, no, they didn't. Their water pressure dropped to almost un-usable levels because the tanks that feed them water were drained, and those tanks weren't being refilled fast enough. Our reservoirs are actually at capacity thanks to last year's rains.
For my friends not in the LA area and/or not up on the details they're likely hearing on the news or social media:
- No, the Los Angeles Fire Department budget was not cut by 17M. Their final budget was approved separately in November, and they got $50M MORE money over the previous year.
Kinda weird how people blame politicians for climate conditions. It's not Newsom or Bass' fault that the fires started.
I will never forget what happened on January 6, 2021. It was the perfect showcase of how dangerous and deadly stupid people can be. Today was a pretty uneventful day at the Capitol. Why? Because we weren't a bunch of morons that got conned into believing the election was stolen.
