"Boston is all about Fried. Hot, nasty, bad-ass Fried"
Eleanor Roosevelt
Still get the feeling that Soto wants to be in NY even if Boston offers the same, or slightly more money. It would however, look good if they had a guy like Fried locked down before their second meeting to show him that they're serious about the contention window being wide open
"We have breaking news to announce on Felger and Mazz, the Red Sox have signed Juan Soto"
Mazz: "Can he pitch?"
You have a chance to make your first pinned tweet(?) on BlueSky an absolutely epic one
Dead & Co. The Sphere, July 4th, 2024.
I need a condensed way of saying "The Big 4, but Braden Montgomery is also an untouchable because his upside is immense and we need to see what he can do in a healthy 2025". Any and all suggestions are welcome.
"The Red Sox are too left handed, they should sign Willy Adames and move Devers to DH!".
The Willy Adames that people think will solve the issues against LHP:
Abreu and Crawford just seems like too light of a package for Crochet IMO. I get the feeling that we'll hear/see a 3rd name that feels like a blow to the gut (Mayer/Teel/Montgomery)
Shout-out Stats, get your Passan fix here 👇
Just saying, if the Red Sox wanted to pursue a Devin Williams trade, they would be able to recoup one of the prospects once he turns down the QO next offseason.
If Jeff Passan joins BlueSky, this space could take off for baseball
Good to see you here!
I hear ya. I told myself yesterday that I wasn't going to give myself hope... Here I am 24 hours later
Unlike the last couple years where you were just hoping, this offseason it feels real and a certainty that the #RedSox will add a front line starter in free agency
That would be a Brady Anderson (Sabrina the Teenage Witch guest star) dropoff, considering he was 2.5 fWAR in 2023. Even if they added a Fried/Snell + #3 starter, the Sox would be screwed if that came to fruition.
The people making the move to BlueSky have the chance to create and build actual positive and knowledgeable Red Sox social community from the ground up. That ship has sailed on the other app.
#RedSox
The Yankees would be a perfect fit, unfortunately, but at least it'd only happen if Soto left. Astros are definitely at a pivotal point, they can't leave this offseason without a Tucker extension, but Bregman and Altuve should be lifers there.
If Boras is hellbent on $175m for Bregman, he might be the last signee of the offseason. Feels inevitable that his offensive production will drop off in the first half of a 6/7 year deal. Great fit for a young team that needs a final piece and veteran leadership, but that $/term is hard to justify
