Scrapshooter isn’t ideal vs Prowess, but it is solid and a card I’m happier to play when disenchant matters and big body with reach matters vs other decks in the format, which it does. Bounce solves Scrapshooter as a standalone, but I’m moreso trying to overload them on reach/flying blockers. Ouroboroid being stronger depends on whether they are pointing Burst Lightning at Llanowar Elves or sandbagging for Badgermole Cub and/or relevant blockers imo. My experience has been that Izzet decks with low spot removal (Spelementals, Prowess) are better off saving removal for Cub and not killing Elf every time. Lessons obviously wants to kill all your stuff and has the ability to do so. That said, most of my opponents have killed the Elf, which makes me like 4-drops less. If you told me my opponents would mostly do the “correct” thing, then my opinion might change. And fwiw if Prowess played the unblockable cantrip, I feel like I could probably never win.

Expecting a tick up in aggro (Izzet Prowess, Rakdos Monument) for Spotlight Richmond, so might do some weird stuff like maindeck Scrapshooter going forward. Will try Witness Protection instead of Bounce Off as well.

Inspired by a convo last weekend, I wanted to make this post just so people knew why I did what I did. The conviction came from the notion that it was all bigger than me.

Ideally, I’d be a forgotten footnote: “First to do it, but contribution pales in comparison to everyone else”

This was not an outcome I predicted. Naive, I know. Even if I knew it was possible, I’m an optimist, so I would have done it exactly the same.
