How to know you work in tech: I just realized I put up an OOO notice on Slack last week, but forgot to set up an OOO auto-reply for email because itβs such an afterthought for me. I also removed work email from my phone for the holidays so if youβre trying to email me, too bad!
Big one from me: I wrote about the phrase "not too sweet" in Asian American communities, and the fine line between a loving in-community meme and an exclusive stereotype www.eater.com/23991259/not...
Itβs the day after Thanksgiving, which means that besides pie for breakfast, we start listening to Christmas music in my house, starting with this youtu.be/sWEfszb9h8Q
I know we all know this but just a reminder, get ALL the free tests your household is owed, every time, even if you still have a stockpile because itβs one of the few direct tools we have to communicate to the government that WE STILL NEED FREE TESTS and thereβs still high demand for COVID resources

The paperwork is telling me that my youngest child will graduate high school in 2030, but thatβs obviously a made-up Star Trek year, here in the real world it was 1997 just the other day
I think the rule for AI is this: would you let a child with excellent diction, grammar, and access to google but a five year old understanding of logic and the world we live in write this?
No?
Then lol okay
You can pretty much condense the last decade of tech into these two posts
No, Chipotle is white people bibimbap
It also made me feel tenderly toward Andrew Ridgeley, who befriended the awkward shy gay kid in elementary school and was so proud of his buddyβs success
If you are a person of a certain age who wants to experience some β80s feels, may I recommend the Wham! documentary on Netflix?
