I don't know if anybody's quantified this, probably somewhere, but anecdotally: the incumbent advantage in primaries for state legislators is a lot less potent than for members of Congress. You're much more on your own, there isn't a whole entrenched partywide machine dedicated to protecting you.

An Iranian ship at a joint Indian naval exercise, where all vessels were required to be unarmed, paraded its sailors along other participants, including the US. The US then withdrew at the last minute, torpedoed the Iranian vessel, and refused to rescue survivors. 87 sailors killed, 60 missing.

I feel like this is déjà vu. Trump and Netanyahu talk about toppling Iran’s government, and I remember the Iraq War which Congress authorized. Bush claimed Saddam had WMDs—there weren’t any. It became a 20-year disaster that destabilized the region and cost us dearly. Let’s not repeat history.

When the bomb threats came, they left and made their bag. And Springfield had to deal with it. Just like they did with the dogs and cats thing in 2024. They were warned and didn’t care.

I don’t think most people care and want to help. They just want money. And politics sells as entertainment.

They ended up hurting the community they allegedly were there to protect by claiming the churches and Haitian leadership were doing a child trafficking ring. Then bomb threats against the Haitians and Haitian leadership came.

Something must be done about the lack of ethics around political content creation (for “resistance”). Out-of-state people went to Springfield, OH to “help,” and when a judge (temporarily) protected TPS and no ICE showed yet, they needed a story. So they made one up. In ended in days of bomb threats.

No one should have to spend Valentine's Day, or any day, living in fear. Our love goes out to every family who has been impacted by ICE's cruelty and violence.
