Did you see Al Ewing's Absolute Green Lantern was nominated for a GLAAD award this year. Have you read it?
@markboyd
Mostly here to talk about how to build open digital ecosystems where everyone can participate and co-create (platformable.com) and to share my queer fetish comedy fiction (akamarkboyd.com). He/him π³οΈβππ

Congratulations! My Thursday mornings are still not the same: waking up and reading the next edition of Avengers Academy was so much fun and always so affirming. Amazing characterisation, there really isn't anything that replaces it with this level of regularity in representation. Still miss it.
Riley's Law variant
They all read βThe Sparrowβ
Hows yr stretching routine? Mineβs terrible & i pay the price with restless legs and terrible full range of movement, but even a few weeks of more regular stretching is helping me gain flexibility especially back of the knees & groin. Also i find lunges & deadlifts great for hamstring muscle memory
To celebrate the launch of the @npmx.dev alpha, I wrote up a guide on how to make your first contribution to an open-source project.
Let me know if this helps you make your first contribution (and it doesn't have to be code)!
I follow you & respect you. I see you quote post so then I click and read and it is on a website that partners with death betting agencies and that funds Nazis. I try and engage with the article cos you made it seem important. It turns out it was fully written by ai based on his social media posts.
Yeah but still you are platforming a substack writer who by his own admission couldn't be fucked actually writing that article and let ai do it for him. If none of us reposted this work it would disappear faster. Now there is a whole thread of people taking his work and debating it seriously
Do you know of any gift article access to this or better yet any other reporting on it from other outlets? I am aware of the Florida issue but this is saying 20 states?
Beehiiv as my suggestion. I've just done a similar thing in europe: platformable.beehiiv.com/p/the-eurost...
No I'm just wondering why yougov did cos then it sparks your thinking that Britain is separate from the others in how it thinks about US?
Spain and France being the same or more than Britain = "few Europeans"?
Are you in Barcelona?!
Had a Disney lawyers moment today
Reminds me of when there were the trademark fights in EU to try and stop vegan burgers from calling themselves burgers (luckily they lost). The meat lobby suggested "cylindrical discs" as an alternative.
Just posted my latest EuroStack newsletter: platformable.beehiiv.com/p/digital-so...
Dear god!
One of airtable's suggested prompts for using their AI is "Generate brainstorm ideas for our fall activewear campaign". Generate brainstorm? Also, if you are in marketing isn't that the part of your job you *want* to do?
...eligibility for funding and "desirability" amongst donors. Now we are working on a proposal to allow them to think through new business/funding models in this context. If anyone reading this excellent piece by @martinmckee.bsky.social and @tiagocorreia.bsky.social has ideas, please reach out
Because of USAID funding elimination they are now competing more with general population-focused agencies for funding. Gov funding in order to meet new HIV US funding can only target heterosexual and gen pop audiences. Right wing policies gain traction in a global context further reducing their 2/3
After PEPFAR funding was cancelled I looked for EU health groups I could join to advocate for replacement funding to ensure we keep pace with ending the global AIDS epidemic. I didnt have any luck so i volunteer directly with a human & sexual rights ngo in Nigeria. The issues they face are: ... 1/3
I'm gonna write something up about this a bit more, but i submitted a response to the European Commission's open digital ecosystems consultation last night: drive.google.com/file/d/1W2fy...
I didnt know that was a thing, but I can totally imagine. But can we also talk about YouTube thumbnails?! What's your take?!
So proud of you!
Is it being published online anywhere yet?
The best review would simply say "I don't care. Do you?"
Its that guy who wrote "From Peanuts to President" (or at least volume 1).
As Amazon announced 16,000 layoffs today, worker representatives and MEPs blasted Amazon management for undermining worker health and democracy at work during a European Parliament hearing on working conditions in its warehouses.
Anyone else reading Some Desperate Glory or read it recently? By @emilytesh.net So good! Halfway through at the moment but the emerging deradicalisation plotline is fascinating and keeping me up at night reading. And love the queer characters of course.
For anyone interested, here are the tracks I've been listening to this month: tidal.com/playlist/ce2...
