during the oil/gas crisis caused by Russia's invasion of Ukraime it was striking how some right-wingers tried to gaslight the public into believing the *biggest* problem with their soaring bills (at the time) was green levies rather than the oil/gas price going through the roof

Interesting result: Brexit increased immigration in the UK.
Few points:
- Non-EU immigration was increased by the Tories out of necessity. otherwise the economic shock was too high. This was not an oversight.
- The undercurrent here was a deep hostility towards EU and all Europeans...

New video footage geolocated by Bellingcat shows a US Tomahawk missile striking an IRGC facility next to the girls’ school in Minab, Iran, where dozens of children were killed on Feb 28. The video also shows smoke already rising from the vicinity of the school.
I thought this was a joke, but "Ms Badenoch has ranked MPs based on how well they are performing on X" is an actual quote from this article.
This is good on the dangerous absurdity of some of the responses to the war. It's worth noting that 'betrayal', 'humiliation' and 'weakness' are exactly the same terms used week-in, week-out to describe how Brexit was undertaken. This is the embedded political psychology of the British right.
