Sunday read and a few notes, en passant : how #AI could unlearn in #HEOR #Modelling -> jepoirrier.org/2025/08/31/n...
Nice to e-meet you! I will try to attend!
Since the advent of #GenAI, #ISPOR conferences were flooded with sessions on #AI and #HEOR. This #ISPOR25 finally sees some “âge de raison” as I scan interesting sessions in this post: jepoirrier.org/2025/05/11/w... See you in Montréal to discuss AI?
I started preparing to attend #ISPOR25 and wrote 2 blog posts about some interesting sessions and panels on #HEOR and #Modelling (jepoirrier.org/2025/04/21/w...) and some on #IRA, JCA, and other investment-focused: jepoirrier.org/2025/04/28/w... Is anyone else going to Montréal in May?
Thank you for the thread and references! I was also wondering how this could benefit the other countries at the expense of the USA. Intuitively, if country A imposes tariffs on countries B & C, B & C could strengthen their trades, flourish and leave A alone in a corner. Any examples from the past?
I don’t want to enable the US government. I totally respect Canadians who openly push back on US bullying & I understand the threat of invasion. I wish EU leaders would be more vocal and active against US bullying. The threat here is to be left alone by our US former “ally” in case of Russian threat
As a European, why would I willingly visit the US?
I lived there for 4 years, I have best Americans friends who have completely different opinions than mine. I know not coming will hurt the US economy, not buying will hurt US jobs & people. Why would I be willingly bullied by the US government?
It’s a bit ironic that established #AI established players are now crying wolf about #DeepSeek and intellectual property when all LLMs are basically a large repository of stolen intellectual property www.bbc.com/news/article... #IP
Happy New Year of the Snake!
OHE published new data from a #UK survey about the #cost of #absenteeism and #presenteeism due to infectious diseases for employers: www.ohe.org/publications... This is not a new conclusion, not peer-reviewed and sponsored by Pfizer (2 resp vaccines). But it is reasonably transparent 👍 #vaccineswork
And my colleague Johan Maervoet presented his study on #EQ-5D mapping functions used in the #UK. Slides here: www.ispor.org/conferences-... #HEOR
#ISPOREurope once more ended with many interesting talks and people met (but still missing daily posts on social media). I will remember that many groups are still in 2023 on #AI (and fortunately some evolved in a kind of “âge de raison”). #HEOR
Found it! I’ll add it as the 4th interesting but concurrent session at that time 😅 Evaluating MS, its progression and the real impact of interventions is crucial for patients, we should talk! (Otherwise, happy to meet you on Bluesky!)
I appreciate the irony of being called “parasitic” by self-proclaimed “pharma man”! 😂😉 Nice to meet you here, happy to meet you in person at ISPOR!
Let’s troll a little bit! 😈 A few weeks ago, a buzzword #bingo was published for #HEOR and #GenAI. It’s funny that, out of context, most of these buzzwords were used in a course by the same author, this morning at #ISPOREU 😉 But I encourage you to read the context: www.linkedin.com/posts/svenkl...
The use of #AI in #HEOR is rapidly developing and this introduction at #ISPOREU brings you from zero to “hero” in a few hours with a smooth stepwise approach (not shying away from Python code! 👍)
Even the palm “trees” in front of the conference center adopted the #ISPOREU colours!
