The British overseas territory now faces a 42% levy — the 8th most punitive rate on US ‘worst offenders’ list
I spoke to Falklands govt rep about their surprise at move against their succulent, deep-sea fish export

Plus for those not aware UK businesses have to have an EU resident responsible operator. Firms, quoting as much as 700 euros per item to do so. Yeah my 20 quid unknown maker vintage bracelet is really worth offering for sale in the EU. Multiply that 500 times. Bankruptcy would beckon
For vintage traders both in the UK and the EU the regulations affect items up to 100 yrs old. Providing manufacturer details &contact number when the company has not existed for years for eg makes it almost impossible for us to comply. Poorly thought out by the EU 3/
The #Etsy @etsy.bsky.social platform is yet to provide an option for GB sellers to turn off sales to Northern Ireland which means many GB businesses face breaching these regs. 2/
To be fair Mike, these rules designed to ensure Amazon Temu Shein conform to better safety stands not only affect UK sellers but our small & micro business colleagues in the EU will have great difficulty trading legally online within the EU. I am an affected business 1/

To be fair whilst this is poor, alternatives for parcels such as Evri are absolutely woeful. Royal Mail are still my go to delivery provider. The posties on the ground do an amazing job all things considered
Sell locally not an issue. Selling to loyal customers in Northern Ireland and the EU is
18 days until most micro, small and medium sized business in Great Britain cease legally offering their goods online to customers in the EU, AND Northern Ireland. And yep you haven't heard a thing about it!!!. EU Global Product Safety Regulations #GSPR #Ebay #Etsy #Amazon 1/
Post by Eric Feigl-Ding: How do right wing MAGA folks feel about Trump naming George Soros’s hedge fund’s chief investment officer as the new Treasury Secretary nominee?
You really can’t make this up. Scott Bessent was in fact Soros’s protégé! MAGA’s gonna need a new antisemitic conspiracy…
The MAGA crowd and Brexiters have much in common - they are unhappy and believe that making people they don't like equally unhappy will make them happy.
Sadly, it doesn't.
More essential reading from Liam.
While Clarkson leads protests against the rich paying even a fraction of their fair share, the most vulnerable have almost nobody speaking up for them.

The multi-millionaire who bought farmland to avoid tax…
And the man who decimated farming to progress his own career
…are now the self-appointed saviours of farming
On today’s pod we discuss how people have lost their damned minds.
Listen on link below…
Ben has been brave enough to be the first Tory MP to come to Blue-sky. Of course if there hadn't been a 40 bn shortfall in Govt money thanks to his party, there would be no need for these new IHT measures.
Out of interest are you comfortable yesterdays March was led by an inheritance tax dodging tv personality. Makes the argument for the tax more pertinent don't you think (admitted buying a farm to dodge IHT in the Sun newspaper in 2021)
As a side. I will congratulate you on being the first Tory MP on this site.
A stance I disagree with. General rule of thumb, if you are marching with Farage you are on the wrong side
The devil is in the detail. 0.004 per cent will be affected. And with wealthy tax dodgers not buying farmland, price of land in theory should go down meaning even less would be affected. Marching alongside Farage badenoch &Clarkson not a great look
The devil in the detail. Ironic that a bloke who admitted buying a farm to dodge inheritance tax (sun 2021) lead a protest against inheritance tax where clearly those attending hadn't looked at the detail. 0.004 per cent of "farmers" aka, wealthy land owners affected
As a LibDem dissapointed to find us supporting our Tory voting wealthy constituent land owners.
