overthrown along with the Author.
I'll admit that I was actually enjoying this movie for as much as half an hour, this movie makes the most effort to turn its characters into actual characters and not just empty vehicles in service of one lame white man's self-actualization.
This conception perfectly suits criticism, which can then take as its major task the discovery of the Author (or his hypostases: society, history, the psyche, freedom) beneath the work: once the Author is discovered, the text is "explained:' the critic has conquered;
