Exactly. If you want to win every game, you can't throw away 50% of a game on purpose. If you do that, you are going to draw too many games which isn't ideal when it's 1 point for a draw and 3 for a win.
The first half stats are ugly here. Arsenal managed one shot (header - 3% chance), in the 10th minute from a corner in all of the the first half of this match.
That's just not good enough; it's hard to win a match in this hard of a league when you play like that for half of the game.

On them not defending good, their defensive numbers make absolutely zero sense. Going into this game, they had both the best defensive home record in the Premier League in terms of XG conceded (5.9) and the worst away defence (23.0). I don't understand how this can be possible.

Personally I think while we've gone through several evolutions under Arteta he is fundamentally very rigid in what he wants. The amount of money we've thrown at the left 8 position every window to find this hyper specific player is one example.
It feels like the solution to all these problems is just "have elite attackers" when that's the one end of the pitch we are lacking in elite quality.
Yeah and this is exacerbated by the end product contribution of our Fullbacks last season (effectively 0). This season with White back it will be better but I don't see MLS hugely improving on that front just yet.
I adore watching Calafiori play football, he's so strong, his movement is incredible, technical level is high and he's good at so many different things. The one thing he isn't good at is actually getting on a football pitch which is a damn shame.
