I remember the Kard Bar but can't remember where it was. There was another vintage clothes shop called Attica on High Bridge. My friend's parents ran one in old Eldon Square too but I can't remember its name.
Oh that's great news! It used to be in Chinatown, right? I remember there used to be lots of great vintage clothes shops around High Bridge at one point.
I looked at the building and knew it was the Toon even before I saw the shop. Grainger Street?
I wonder if they were all out in Shepherds Bush that night!
Rare use of an oboe in a pop song #totp
I love the story behind You Got the Love, but this video is pants! #totp
That explains a lot! π
#totp you can tell the Gulf War of 1991 is on
I had that too! And I remember Jackie Brambles being on the cover. #totp
I do wonder where they get the dancers from. They always seem like an afterthought.
She also voiced one of the characters on the Raccoons.
I would agree, though Boogie Wonderland comes a closer second.
She did All Time High from Octopussy and I believe voiced a character in the Raccoons.
Ah, i wasn't around at the time. (Can only just say it mind!)
They seem to be on most weeks!
My Mum's disappointed about the closure of the cafe in her local M&S. Even though it's in a shed on a retail park, she visits every week, can have an affordable hot lunch while reading her newspaper. The staff who work there are lovely too, thankfully they have other jobs in the store now.
Looks like they have improved the visitors' lanyard since my last visit.
Is that the Houses of Parliament?
At the end she says, "Look there LL!"
Scree shot of order confirmation
Well chuffed because I have got tickets for Haute and Freddy at Bush Hall! Downside is it's the worst possible day of the year for me to go to a concert!
I'd genuinely forgotten about that although Newcastle was relegated the same year so I was probably more preoccupied with that. We came straight back too.
Great article on Primary School Bangers in the Guardian. Loved this line on the Glastonbury set: "As with Kneecap, the festival had to restrict entry to the packed field during his set. Unlike with Kneecap, the sunburnt crowd swayed amiably to Shine Jesus Shine." www.theguardian.com/music/2026/m...
Interesting that there is a stronger identity of people in the confected Tyne and Wear than the historical country of Durham? Wonder if that's partly to do with industrial networks with stronger ties to Tyneside, Wearside and maybe Teesside too.
I love the Northumberland flag! If only, I had been born a few miles north.
Ah, I see. Thanks!
There are some dark blue ones... In Northern Ireland it's clearly TUV but I am unsure about what the one in the West Midlands and the other in the North West is.
I use Liverpool Street a lot and really don't mind it as it is but I rarely use the Bishopsgate entrance. The thing they need to do is sort out that grim underpass from the east side of Bishopsgate.
An upside down bug from the cartoon Scooby Doo
My daughtedaughter's current binge watch is Scooby Doo on iPlayer. I regret to report she is now onto the 1980s ones with Scrappy Doo.
Thanks for highlighting. I used to follow them at the other place so I have reconnected.
