Hualian in Valentine's Day in a modern AU. They each have presents behind their backs and smiles on their faces. XL's holding a small bouquet of flowers and a bag of burnt cookies while HC holds a heart-shaped box of chocolates and a very large bouquet. A red string connects the two of them.

I finally finished! I tweaked a few spots since I posted the WIP, but I enjoyed putting a modern twist on #Hualian. My favorite part was XL's bag of burnt cookies 🤣

Fun fact, originally I wanted HC at the front door with thousands of flowers behind him as his V-day gift~ 😂🩷

I'm so happy I actually have something to share for WIP Wednesday, and I'm even happier that it's both positive and a depiction of Hualian both being absolutely pathetic for each other 🥰

After looking at some ref. images, you get a knack for the pose and how things should look and you can gradually incorporate it into your art without referencing.
That was a long-winded answer, but I hope it helped? I suck at explaining things 😂

One thing I do is force myself to sketch dynamic poses that push me out of my comfort zone and make me have to practice my week points.
It might look wrong but it's not? I have to make myself understand that it can look wrong but be right. I think one of the best resources for any artist is refs.+
