A very sad update regarding the Colorado wolf that died during capture in Jan. CPW revealed the cause of death was from acute cardiogenic shock. A spokesperson for CPW said they were trying to change the battery on the wolf's GPS collar, which is why it was being captured.

But there’s a catch. If the population averages 320 wolves over 4 years, the species could be downlisted from endangered to threatened, making it easier to kill them.
