Last night, I attended @everytown.org’s Industry Accountability Campaign Launch Call to learn the role gun dealers have in stopping the flow of illegal guns, how we can make sure they prioritize safety or face accountability, and how we can partner with local businesses to promote public safety.

Yesterday, I attended Gun Violence Prevention Lobby Day with representatives from CCAGV, @coceasefire.bsky.social, CFCU, @giffords.org, @bradyunited.org, @teamenough.org and others to advocate for GVP bills. Very proud to work alongside so many people dedicated to improving our public safety.

Last Thursday, I joined @giffords.org Gun Owners for Safety and @jeffcomoms.bsky.social member meetings to discuss upcoming lobby & advocacy days respectively, going over logistics, legislative priorities, and overall process. I’m hoping to connect with representatives regarding public safety bills.
On yesterday’s @giffords.org Gun Owners for Safety Meet-n-Greet, we heard updates regarding the federal gun violence prevention landscape and what all of us can do to support this work and save lives. Make your voice heard! Reach out to your legislators to discuss ways to keep our communities safe!
On last Wednesday’s National Secure Storage Call: Guns in Cars + Out of Home Storage, @everytown.org discussed how SMART drivers can secure guns in vehicles to protect their personal property & prevent crimes, and how gun owners can store firearms at secure places away from their
home if needed.

On yesterday’s @momsdemandaction.org Statewide Membership Meeting, we welcomed new members, discussed upcoming bills to contact our legislators about, and talked about Advocacy Day, an opportunity to meet with our reps face to face on issues that are important to us. Democracy in action!
On our @giffords.org Gun Owners for Safety Colorado Chapter meeting yesterday, we talked about potential partnerships & outreach and on upcoming legislation. Donated 59 gun locks to Arvada Fire department yesterday for their STAR program which provides services to those with behavioral health issues. Nearly 6 out of 10 gun deaths in the US are suicides. Thank you to @coceasefire.bsky.social & @besmartforkids.bsky.social for providing the gun locks!
On last night’s @everytown.org National All Supporters Call, we heard from New Jersey Senator Andy Kim, from a survivor with Everytown’s Survivor Network, on Advocacy Day efforts, on gun trafficking statistics, and on holding the industry accountable with marketing reform & safer products.
On Tuesday’s @giffords.org Gun Owners for Safety meeting, we discussed 2026 legislative priorities and best practices on how to reach out to elected officials regarding bills we support or oppose. We can make our communities safer when enough of us take action.
Tuesday, we convened another coalition call to discuss how to collaborate and share resources with other local GVP & CVI groups, and then I attended our first @jeffcomoms.bsky.social member meeting of 2026 to discuss our plans for this legislative cycle and upcoming events.
Celebratory gunfire is no joke. Each year, innocent bystanders pay the price for this highly irresponsible and dangerous act.

Yesterday, I attended a @jeffcomoms.bsky.social community stroll in Golden to commemorate the Nationwide Vigils to #EndGunViolence. Over 1.3 million Americans who have been shot since Sandy Hook. Thank you to everyone who participated in these vigils to honor lives ended by gun violence.
Had a great brainstorming session yesterday with representatives from different GVP groups in the area on how to collaborate more and work together on legislation, volunteering, and outreach. 📣Fellow GVP community, how do you engage with other GVP groups in your area? How do you coordinate? 🧐
Did you know that cars parked at residences are the most common source of stolen guns? Each stolen firearm represents a weapon in the hands of a potential criminal, making all of us less safe.
Protect kids and communities by making sure firearms are always stored securely—in homes AND vehicles.
As you gather with family and friends this week, it's important to ask if all the firearms in the home and in vehicles are securely stored before visiting.
That means guns are stored unloaded, locked, and separate from ammunition. #BeSMART

In Wednesday’s @jeffcomoms.bsky.social October meeting, we learned about @everytown.bsky.social’s Survivor Network, providing support groups for bereaved communities, a peer support program, a Fellowship program, and a way to share stories in “Moments that Survive.” Check out their resources here.
On Tuesday’s @giffords.org Gun Owners for Safety Meet & Greet, for Domestic Violence Awareness Month, we learned that a domestic violence victim is 5 times more likely to be killed when an abusive partner has access to a gun. While some resources are in place, more can be done to help survivors.
October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Domestic violence victims are at far greater risk of being killed if a firearm is in the home. Healthcare providers can ask patients about firearm access in their home; these conversations, even brief ones, can prevent harm & save lives.
