Of course, while the planters were playing their courtly games and taking their Grand Tours of Europe and such, their genteel lives were being funded with cotton money. Our particular “planters” don’t pose as Arthurian knights, but as MMA fighters with a sideline in content production. One wonders whether the pose was as ridiculous to workers 150 years ago as it is to us today.
