Been feeling that recently with this being the year I'm finally playing through the Resident Evil games, and how I'm likely missing out on what I hear is a huge part of the appeal (how invitingly replayable they are) by approaching them with the goal of moving on to the next as soon as I clear one
As a save state user in Banjo specifically to avoid recollecting the notes, I fully admit that I know I wasn't getting the intended experience, and this helped me appreciate how the level feels completely different without doing that
I do appreciate the whole bit at the end about how a game hits different when you're playing something over and over again to really learn and master it, versus when you're slamming it out to beat it quickly so you can talk about it and move on to the next thing
