Agreed! I wonder if either will hold up in a (powerful) peasant cube environment that's not too focused on very specific archetypes. What do you think?
Having said that, I think you made me remember Lightning Axe might be a good one to throw in anyway.

Does anyone have any experience with or thoughts about Madness and Eldrazi in cubes? Either as a full archetype or smaller package?
I'm trying to find something for my peasant #mtgcube that feels powerful, exciting and is not an all-or-nothing parasitic archetype but a fun pocket of synergy.

I kinda remember Symbiosis being kinda cracked but I'm not sure. Zephid looks like it goes hard as well in a format like this.

Bots think Piper's Melody is the best card, so you're probably fine. The newer cards do have better stats and sometimes have so much going on that I find it hard to think they're not at least slightly better on rate. Then again, does it really matter? They're weird, and something has to be best?

A couple, mostly in their limited format: Farsight, Whipstitch. Xantid Swarm in constructed sideboard. Wrong bear, but I've played my Grizzly boys enough. My pick here would probably be Farsight as a 3/3 for 3, or Mirozel as a hard to kill flyer? Dunno.

Voted for Swords because it's so efficient and flexible. The next cards are probably Embercleave and Chariot.

I'm on green Curse. I have no idea if it's still the bomb it used to be, but it can get out of hand fast.

I enjoy typal cubes a lot. Used to own one, but took it apart and ever want to rebuild it. So I like looking at other lists.
You run some cool cards and seem to have found a good balance between typal and other cool stuff

>>> Welcome to the Peasant Travel Cube! <<...
We had a blast though. I hope I'll have more time in 2026 to actually play the cube and test some stuff out.
Here's the list for reference: cubecobra.com/cube/list/pe...
(Note that at 385, it's hardly a 'travel' cube anymore, so I'll prob change the name and build an actual travel cube again)

Green cont.
I'll keep tinkering with green to see if there's a direction I like enough. It's not that green cards are bad, it's just that there's a lot of 'solid' going around that has a hard time going up against 1 mana removal and more powerful individual cards and synergies from other colors.

Green still hangs a little behind the power curve. It has less direction than the other colors and less cards/strategies that make people commit. Feedback after the draft was that people noticed that green was somewhat open but felt few incentive to go in.

Overall takeaways are that the balance is actually pretty good in the cube after I expanded the travel peasant #mtgcube to 385. Feedback after the draft was that it was challenging and fun and the gameplay was mostly close and felt powerful.

Losing team: RU aggro/tempo and 4c value/persist midrange went 2-1. Both are decks I'm very happy about seeing. The UW aggressive had a lot of resilient cards and game against all opponents, but in the end the lack of focus (and removal) made it go 0-3.

Winning team: UWb blink carried (3-0) as a very good board control deck. Bonus points for playing Aether Vial. Both the GBu ramp deck and UBG reanimate deck went 1-2 with some solid explosive draws but not enough resilience.

We also teamdrafted my peasant #mtgcube, again going to the ninth match to decide 5-4.

We did a teamdraft of my old frame peasant (+rare lands) yesterday.
Decks were fun, competitive, and everything felt quite balanced with all decks going 2-1 or 1-2 and few blowout games.
The winning team:
RB aggro 2-1, WRu aggro 2-1, BRu control 1-2

Time Spiral is basically a cube as is with the amount of different stuff going on. Imagine peppering it with some outside cards it should be a banger.

I'll take Figure, hoping to maybe wheel Koth or a small white card. The other cards I was considering are Wrath and Steam Vents.
