The kids in Quakertown are still in jail! These kids defended themselves when MAGA chud Police Chief Scott McElree rushed into a crowd of protesters in plainclothes and put a teenage girl in a choke hold with no warning. They've been in jail since Friday and may be kept until Tuesday. Speak up!

Why do I still get ads for nursing school? I am literally 3 months away from graduating med school. I already decided which career path in medicine that I wanted to pursue. (And oddly, when I was considering nursing I never got this many ads for nursing school 😂)

Sat in on an appointment as part of a recent rotation with a kiddo who had in utero substance exposure, early neglect and abuse, now a teen struggling with sequelae of that but living in a rural area with no access to child and adolescent psychiatrists. These kids are my why.

I certified my rank list today. I am still waiting on a few bits of information re: benefits that I have not yet heard back about so I might flip flop a couple programs based on that. And I may or may not decide to add a few programs (though it would mean paying extra). But I am happy with my list.

Foster youth are at especially high risk for polypharmacy and medicating normal behaviors. Anecdotally, I also see kids in care get medications in lieu of more proven therapy like T-CBT. Medical homes for foster care with integrated MH professionals are helpful.

We need more child psych beds, but we can't have them without staffing them. For that we need to train more child and adolescent psychiatrists. More CAP track and Triple Board residency spots should be funded. And we should consider shortened pathways like 4 yr CAP track.

I love getting to the airport and seeing at the gate that this will not be a full flight so they aren’t begging people to check bags and actually encouraging people to spread out as they board.

Officially done with interviews and checked in for my flight for my second look visits. I can’t identify the exact cause, but I am feeling so anxious and discombobulated about this trip, and I am not usually an anxious traveler. Praying for a safe journey and clarity on my rank list.

It is finally soup and candle weather and my soul has desperately needed this. Sitting by my window watching the sleet, sipping my hot cider, cat in my lap and reading about social justice. My soul is finally resting a little.
