Nice! Happy birthday!
I got a federal juror qualification questionnaire notice in the mail.
Federal? They're all guilty.
(I know that's not how this works but they are all guilty)
A digitally drawn homage to the George Herriman comic strip Krazy Kat. Starting left of frame we see yellow Ignatz Mouse having just thrown a brick which is sailing across the center of the frame and in another instant will bash the oblivious Krazy Kat (a blue bipedal cartoon cat wearing a red scarf) in the back of the head as he walks innocently to the right. Everything is drawn in rough black pen and colored in pale washes. A speech bubble from Ignatz reads βMaybe it willβ¦β, the word βHappenβ appears in the whooshing trail of the sailing brick, and a final speech bubble belonging to the Kat reads ββ¦Todayβ.
Look at you. You're really something. How many words do you know? So many! You know so many words. When did you learn all that and how do you retain it? Amazing. I'm sorry, did you just grab and lift that tea cup with your fingers without even thinking about how to do it?! You, friend, are magic.
CLE has a long tradition of celebrating our large Irish community. As some have become more conservative, everyone should read this. As we celebrate and listen to the music this St. Patrick's Day, really listen to it. And act accordingly. The occupation may be coming for our neighbors here as well.
Fantastic. Thank you.
Dad side: bricklayer/stone mason that rose to management at Higley Construction which pretty much built CLE. He built St. Rocco's church. Mom side: WWII, came home and built a laundry and diaper service business. Baby boom needed diapers. Drank a lot. Both died too young.
I can see, hear and smell my Grandmother lighting one of her Kools in her Delta 88... while I slide around on the massive vinyl back seat at every turn...
A photo of a light-colored cat with a gray face and ears and wide blue eyes. Unknown forces are holding up to the catβs ear the handset of a beige antique-type touch tone phone. A rectangular speech bubble with a jagged tail has been drawn on the photo to indicate it is the sound coming out of the handset. Words inside the bubble read, βMaybe it will happen todayβ¦β
Happy birthday Ned!
It's pledge week on our local PBS station and yes, the very relevant Rick Steves' Fascism in Europe is being aired, again, tonight at 11:30. If you haven't watched it, you should. Check your local listings as they say...
with each update of InDesign the tabs/leader function gets worse
I'm so sorry.
every fucking one of them
Sending good thoughts
Ana is a regular customer but you too can get your copy of a book so good that someone pushed off the work theyβre supposed to be doing to read it! Get a discount with code TEETH: jukeboxgraduate.bigcartel.com/product/thre... (bc I had to have emergency dental surgery earlier this week)
And when you do reinvent the magazine, you will need a solid graphic designer with 25+ years of experince in the design and print production of magazines. And that would be me.
A digital illustration in a colored pencil style. A drawing of a Polaroid SX-70, a foldable instant camera that some would say is one of the best cameras ever in history. It is silver and black with patches of brown fake leather on some of the body panels. It is unfolded into its characteristic mass of unlikely angles. The camera is set against a background rectangle filled with the colors filled with the colors of the Polaroid packaging rainbow. A photo is protruding from the camera and has developed to reveal only white letters on black reading βMaybe itβll happen todayβ.
Ok unsolicited thoughts on the Rock Hall noms:
Shameful to not nominate and finally induct DEVO especially with the ceremony being in CLE this year.
If you disagree with Luther Vandross being nominated, I will fight you.
Oasis is hot garbage.
I miss Michael Hutchence.
Springsteen in CLE. I realize now I didn't explain that well or include alt text. I blame that on insufficient coffee consumption.
Nevermind I see he's going to ATL
So yeah this was more than DM. But way less than what he was charging on the last tour.
Yeah I didn't say it was a good price. Just a rationalized price. LOL. I think I paid 250-300 for nearly floor DM. I'd have to look. And I probably shouldn't have bought this today with the way things have been going for us personally and professionally. But I did.
Where are you going, Chicago?
I get it. Because it's just me going and I paid nearly as much for Depeche Mode, I can justify it. But it's still too much.
And I'm in. Higher up than I like to be but sort of affordable...
In the waiting room... We'll see...
Also, that's Dennis Wilson, seated and pouring from a giant handle of probably vodka right?
I used to work with his ex-wife.
