Vivimos en una nueva realidad climática, muy distinta a la de principio de siglo.
Así ha cambiado el clima del planeta en los últimos 25 años.

Take YouTube as an example. So many GenAI-slop nowadays: AI-generated images, videos, voices, and scripts, tonnes of hot garbage. But what do viewers value? Authentic stuff, genuine craftsmanship, factually accuracy, and stories that actually connect with us.
I was told "if you don't use GenAI, you will be left behind".
But the reality is people include GenAI slop in their work, and if you don't use GenAI, your work is already more careful, higher quality, and more authentic.
I am not just talking about academic papers.
🚨We’re hiring! Please help spread the word!
Our lab at @TheSainsburyLab is recruiting a pre-doctoral intern to work on plant immunity research. Ideal for those who are planning to pursue a PhD and seeking research experience. tatsuyanobori.com
Even if you ignore the insane power usage, and the IP theft, and the workforce damage, the amount of fraud and abuse that gen ai enables is inexcusable and inextricable from the technology as long as it exists.
Dang, hard disagree. The best papers to write and read are works of art, not merely a list of data and statements.
Don’t let LLMs take this away too, for gods sake.
Please share! I'm looking for a postdoc. The position is to lead one of the following projects: 1) regulation of plant specialized metabolism by cell fate, or 2) foliar embryogenesis in the succulent plant Kalanchoe.

Inside me there are two wolves. One of them has a 15 genome edits the other 20 genome edits. Neither of them is a dire wolf.
Two fantastic positions in #plantscience: A junior AND a senior group leader position at the Gregor Mendel Institute (GMI), part of @viennabiocenter.bsky.social. Generous core funding, fantastic plant and non-plant colleagues, all in a very livable and beautiful city.

Hot take: the only true metric of human progress is the global reduction of suffering. Any technological advancement that does not work in service to this is a lateral step, not forward progress. I don't care if we get to Mars, when rampant famine and disease and poverty remain unsolved for.
