A ynfg analogy for this would be if a fangame was hosted on a flash site that's gone or somehow no one has a copy of it, dev included. Or the dev stepped out of the scene and completely left everything as is only for someone else to get the game and only allow download through a paywall.
Think an important distinction is abandonware is often due to negligence/greed by corp or files being lost by accident.

don't know how well this works but someone said that if another person is trying to start something while you're in your car and in a public place then lay on the horn. it's probably louder than them and will draw attention from everyone around you which tends to make people back off.
time to look for self defense that isn't mace or gun
nothing bad happened. i accidentally cut someone off and they followed me to the apartment i was going to. ended up driving off, probably assumed i lived there and was calling for backup. could have been worse and wanna be prepared if it ever does
