You can pry my historical romance novels written by women in the 80s & 90s (and some 2000s)from my cold, dead hands.
Johanna Lindsey, Julie Garwood, Julia Quinn, Lisa Kleypas, and a few others...I love their books. They are my comfort books.

I was not impressed with Beverly Jenkins' Winds of the Storm.

I understand that some people really want to go the traditional publishing route.
But I cannot imagine waiting on some agent or editor to tell me that my story is worthy. I prefer to self publish and let the readers form an opinion.
It makes me sad thinking about the great stories still waiting.
This was a rough one. Proceed with caution. Trigger warnings mentioned in the review.

Seeing no shit men on the internet is my biggest motivation as a romance author. Because I am going to create a man than is ten times better than you and in which my readers will love more than you! ππππ
Five years after my indie publisher retired and the rights to my books reverted back to me, Iβm starting the self-publication process through KDP. I donβt know why Iβm so nervous. Iβm the type that would just keep editing forever and forever.
No thoughts, head empty βπ§ β
Every time I get on Facebook, I regret getting on Facebook, and yet I canβt stop myself π«
Are you a grandma from WV because this is literally what my grandma used to serve us for dinner??? π
Fingers crossed for a snow day tomorrow so I can do more writing and lazing about on the couch π€
This book only filled me with regret after I finished it.

Indigo by Beverly Jenkins is a complicated and important book about Black people falling in love at a time when their very rights were always in question. Check out my review of the book!

I love that! I, too, have allowed gender to be a more fluid concept, but I will admit right now that my current project is a bit more traditional. Itβs so satisfying π₯°
My favorite part of writing romance is where the stubborn hero accepts the inevitable fact that he is, indeed, going to marry the heroine. π

Currently in the middle of @authorrayne.bsky.socialβs Never Cross a Highlander and *oh, my goodness* Kallum is everything I want in a historical romance hero. Will review officially when completed, but 5/5 stars so far.
I've been out of reading romance novels for a while because I'm working through grad school. I attempted to get back into it with Tessa Dare's The Duchess Deal (Book 1). DNF, but I wrote a review.

I am firmly in my aromantic era.
All the romance I have in me goes in my books.
