Bare minimum, not even justice was revoking the license. At least that would spare future victims. A small measure of justice would be losing her assets. House arrest would be a form of favoritism but at least show you were serious about the consequences of her decisions. This is a travesty.

I dunno how, but someone needs to come up with YIMBYism for commercial spaces.

Don’t expect your car’s safety technology to save you What if ADAS is just for convenience?

I wrote this a couple years ago, warning that car safety tech will never be a panacea.

A big reason why: Drivers take more risks when they assume technology will protect them if something goes wrong. It's known as the Peltzman effect, and it's really bad news if you're walking or biking.
