As a former bookstore clerk, new and used, this is a sad moment I admired super fans that keep lists of which books they had read. Second hand harlequins were sold quickly. I would put out six copies of new releases and they’d be gone by lunch. Losing the core of American readers is a sad moment.
#DidYouKnow that February 11th is recognized as #NationalGuitarDay?

Trump and the Republicans are trying to rig the election. That's not being a "doomer," that's acknowledging reality.
Democrats need a coordinated, national response to these coordinated, national attacks. We need an "Elections Czar"

I am outraged by the despicable, cowardly attacks against Muslim New Yorkers in Bay Ridge last week—one of which was on a 12-year-old girl. This violence is unacceptable, and we know that all too often visibly Muslim, hijab-wearing women and girls bear the brunt of it. Muslim New Yorkers deserve to live with safety and dignity, and to be able to walk our streets free from harassment, threats, or harm. Islamophobia has no place in our city, and violence or intimidation against Muslim New Yorkers is unacceptable.

Fare thee well, my friend, meet you by the River, where the willow grows. Fare thee well…
Bobby Weir has died. There’s plenty of people writing about his life and his music, but we were casual friends for about 8 years, and I’ll miss him as my friend who asked me about my circus days and love of elephants, stole my French fries while talking to Lukas Nelson, always with a guitar in hand.

Bobby Weir has dies. I’m proud to say that we became friends with Bobby and Natasha in the last few years. He was a wonderful man. Others can talk about his legacy, I just wanted to say he was my friend and I’m mourning his loss. May the Summerlands welcome him Home.
These dancers are a common sight at Minneapolis protests and cultural events. Protesters are gathered around as they wait for the protest against ICE to start in south Minneapolis.
Let me be very clear: tomorrow morning and EVERY DAY THIS WEEK, call your Reps and Senators whether Dem, Republican or Independent. Express your outrage at Trump’s imperial and illegal actions against sovereign nations. TELL THEM to convene. To hold up everything. Hold up $.

Oh yeah, Happy New Year everyone! Hope it’s a good one without any tears…
I just saw a clip of Keith Richards wishing all a Happy New Year, ending in him saying “One Love”. I am bemused, comforted by his words, and amazed by his presence and message. We’ve would have melted down the internet in ‘65 if this level of tech existed back then.

Oh dear, cats in Yule trees. Ah, the memories of the family cats romping among the tinsel and shattered glass globes. Have a lovely Hanukah/Yule week of celebrations.
Odd…what is my Wednesday doing at your place? For the same reason as you, put up soft ornaments on the tree and left the 50s hand blown Hungarian ornaments nestled in their cocoons for another time. Wednesday does love shiny things. And tissue paper, and gift bags and ribbon spools……
