They are probably banking on the outrage dying down and people forgetting to try this again. It does buy us some more time, but it's not a true victory until discords fully steps down from this stupid idea.

I can tell I'm going to be a little extra sensitive as someone who lives in a red state about people being shitty and saying red states/districts "deserve" to have bad things happen to them because there are still plenty of minorities here too! Immigrants, POC, LGBTIA+, disabled, all here too.

To be honest, it hurts more than anything has ever hurt in my entire life. It is by far my favorite job I have ever had, and I was laid off by complete bad luck.

I think the biggest damage to the art community was the obsolescence of gallery sites (y!, deviantart, etc) and the rise of scroll-by social media, like twitter and even tumblr. Art is not ''content'', you shouldnt need to post art every day (or every month!) to be relevant. This mindset sucks.

I feel a lot of younger artists nowadays are in the path of permanent wrist damage and burnout with the amount of stuff they feel almost obligated to make in order to feel like they are still relevant and present on peoples timelines.
I was like that with comms, and all I got was damage on my body.

Why does everyone think fiction is just fantasy wish fulfillment now and not like an exploration of themes and ideas? People will be like "this movie is evil and gross because it depicts a predatory relationship" and then you watch the movie in question and it's about how preying on young women is bad and impacts their lives negatively. "Why would they do this instead of just making everyone in the movie nice and normal and good" so we would have this conversation...

Who is out here shaming people for LEARNING? 40?? Idgaf if you're 80, education is ALWAYS an honorable pursuit. Nobody stops learning until they're dead. Education should be for EVERYONE. In no way is it shameful at any age
