Day 3 - Kapla Club
All children were involved in creating an entire city, complete with animals using identical cuboid-shaped planks. The children learnt different construction techniques to form different shapes and structures.

Day 2 of STEM Kapla Day
Classes continued to add to our Kapla structures in the school hall today - even our youngest children in the Nursery added their handmade structures ! The children have been incredible - so careful and enthusiastic ! Well done everyone. Day 3 photos tomorrow !!! 👏

Year 5 Lisbon Stations of the Cross Lenten Retreat Day at St Michael's Church in Watford. The children were so creative and produced some wonderful art work using clay and pastels. This work will be displayed in the Upper KS2 area 🎨🖌️ 🙏
We were very sad to say farewell to Ashleen last Friday. Ashleen has been working with our Early Years Children. Thank you Ashleen for all your hard work, we wish you all the best with your future adventures. 😃❤️
Year 5 and Year 6 have been working on Holocaust Memorial activities today. Children in younger year groups have coloured in individual flames which will form a large school display

Year 6 took part in a fascinating History trip to Bletchley Park just before the Christmas break. As well as a tour they found out how ciphers were used to keep information secret during WW2 and used a real Enigma machine. It was a very special day !! 🕵️
Year 2 have been learning about different written communication. They have been busy in class writing postcards and walked to our local post box to post them. 😀📮✏️✉️👣 We are really impressed by the progress they have made with their writing - well done Year 2 !!! 👏
Our choir performed at St Bedes Church yesterday for the 'Thursday Club' and for a family who had booked a mass with a special intention. It was a lovely occasion. Thank you to our Governors -Pauline and Juliette for supporting the children with the music and singing. 🎵🎶

Year 2 have written persuasive letters this week focusing on The Polar Express. They successfully persuaded their teachers that they deserve to ride the Polar Express ! The 17th Dec will be Polar Express day for Year 2, they will be able to come to school wearing their pjs !🚂

Our Year 5 and 6 choir led a beautiful service of Readings and carols at Holy Rood Church last Friday. Thank you to members of our Governing Body, Pauline and Juliette, who prepared the choir so well by conducting and playing the piano. Well done choir - you were fantastic ! 🎵
This was the result of our Christmas Appeal aimed at supporting the health and wellbeing of families in the SW Herts area. We are so grateful to the families in our school who have donated so generously. These gifts will now be distributed to families in need in the local area❤️🎁🎁
Our newly refurbished library is now open to the children to borrow a book. Year 4 were busy choosing books today with Susanna our librarian TA. Our new library is thanks to the hard work of our staff team and the generosity of donations made to our PFA. Well done everyone ! 📚📚
We were delighted to welcome back the Electric Umbrella Musical Group to school last Thursday. The children loved the musical assemblies and Year 1 and Year 4 really enjoyed their workshops 🎵🎶🎼🎸🥁🪇🙂

We had 5 full boxes of food for the Watford Foodbank this morning. Our Chaplaincy Team had quite a task to collect and sort all the donations. These were collected by volunteers and will be used to support families in our area. Thank you to our parent/carers for such generosity❤️
Members of Year 6 took part in a Sports Partnership Basketball tournament at Queens’ School last Thursday. The day included a skills and drills session in the morning followed by a fun tournament in the afternoon. It was very enjoyable -well done Year 6 ! 🏀😀
In Key Stage 1 and 2 assemblies last week the focus was 'SMART' esafety - how we can stay safe online and who we can talk to if we are worried about anything online. 🖱️💻⌨️👍
Well done to members of Year 6 who took part in a School Sports Partnership Hockey competition at Watford Fullerians last week. They really enjoyed the experience and played against other local primary schools.🏑🙂🥉 They came in 3rd place 👏👏

Sam, our Mental Health Practitioner, led assemblies today for Anti-Bullying Week. The children were extremely well behaved and listened so well. Thank you to everyone who took part in Odd Socks Day to show that everyone is unique and should be accepted for their differences.🧦
Year 5 Lisbon really enjoyed their special day at WFC stadium yesterday. WFC Trust partnered with 'Show Racism the Red Card' to host this educational workshop to help tackle racism in society. 🐝⚽️🟥
It was truly heart-warming to see such a high turnout of parents at the Nursery and Reception coffee morning/ afternoon. We hope this gave families a valuable opportunity to connect with staff, share experiences, and engage in their children's early learning journey. ☕️🍪😃
