Next research episode is recording LIVE tomorrow, exclusively streaming @girudo.bsky.social.
We’re gonna wrangle the rest of the formats of Bluesky, then, we can go looking for some deets that aren’t so easy to find!
The stream is free! Just need to make a profile on Girudo.com!

I have a Pendragon deck that is getting infamous. It is led by Raven of Fell Omens and Caduceus, Staff of Hermes.
The staff is the opener and the closer, but the Raven runs the game with clerics that target & “prevent” damage to opponents creatures to drain players into a gritty, low-life endgame.
I had someone show interest in my Safari Game and I mentally snapped back to being salty that there’s no gorram Rindo Berry!
I need this symmetry. Why do TCG’s do this? I need cycles to be completed so that fans like me have complete sets of effects to use when crafting homebrew formats!
Here is where I have published my thoughts and notes on this game design. I’ve also got a discord for it, but it’s pretty much just me.
@safarigamewarden.bsky.social
I’m returning to developing the rules this year! Last year knocked me down, and I’m just now getting back up and on top of the hobby projects I’ve been neglecting.
For ease of play, I have to overlay rules onto a few trainer cards. Like, ball cards have dice pools, and circumstantial bonuses!
Neat idea with Egyptian Rat Screw! Reminds me of PokeCatch, which I adore as a fast-fun format that's very accessible.
That said, I love drafting PTCG. It was from making my draft cube that I was inspired to make my own Safari Zone format. It's a multiplayer deck-builder where you catch to win!
I'm glad you mentioned it anyway! I know a few people that would love to play this way.
There's hundreds of ways to play this game. If you ever get curious about rejoining, I have a custom feed and starter pack. Each are packed with cool, supportive people that are committed to having fun.
It is my pleasure to find cool formats and feature them. I've got one such specimen that fell into my formats feed here for you!
Wanna play a Magic format that requires only knowledge?
No cards to buy, or even handle.
Three card names, one direct message, and you're playing!
@3cblue.bsky.social
We're doing what we can to revive the format up here:
enterthebattlefield.ca/products/etb...
Squen and Cragg basic land alters - acrylic with gloss varnish
(Available!)

Oh, yeah! That's a neat idea! Trios is such a good environment for this to get some traction. Commander Sealed could be interested in the data you gather, since that format is similarly cooperative.
I'd like to see Value Vintage in a Trios mix. Heck, I can name format trios all day that sound fun!
I've got an Emperor project on the way-back burner that fully intends to require Deploy, and expand it slightly to better fit the other format I'm mashing into it, Pendragon. Need to be able to move Excaliburs around the team. To build Kaldra-Voltrons for pauper sentai battles.
Please experiment!
Emperor mentioned, I am summoned!
They sound like my kind of people. Everyone should try strange magic formats, whenever one sounds like it could be a wild time. Each is an opportunity to discover a new way to have fun, and often with cards you already own.
Shared-deck 10p Emperor cube yeeeeeaaah!
I can name a dozen formats that are begging people to play “potentially unplayable cards”.
I run an Alabaster Potion in my favorite Pendragon deck. I might be the only MtG player that’s resolved that spell in paper since 5e. It just does big things for my Raven of Fell Omens & Caduceus deck.
Certainly an include for my Druids of Chulane deck.
A picture of Channing Tatum’s abs, a reference to Magic Mike 2.
Cakes and pies are fine.
But Imma Cookie Monster.
Pecan Sandies, if I hafta pick.
Magic the gathering card featuring an obelisk that has many small swords sticking out
Misreading hastily drawn dry-erase art is exactly why I signed up.
No lie, calling it as a Jeweled Amulet was exactly the kind of shenanigans I was hoping for.
But a free Door to Nothingness for the Jodah deck? That was wild.
Clearly it was the Irencrag, Questi.
First Girudo game. I needed a reminder to press it in their UI.
Infinitokens can help to build good habits!
Jeweled Amulet, Spellweaver Volute, and Daybreak Coronet was cool, buuuuut:
The @infinitokens.com were a Mirrari's Wake, Goose Mother, and... I kinda just drew stuff for the third one, but it was almost Approach of the Second Sun.
This was hella fun! Thanks @phelddagrif.quest for the chat help!!
TONIGHT AT 8PM EASTERN ON TWITCH WE WILL BE DOING THE FIRST INFINITOKEN ROULETTE STREAM WITH @renothevast.bsky.social AND @hwstmtg.bsky.social!!!! IT'S LIKE TREASURE CRUISE AND PICTIONARY HAD A KID
FIRST TIME USING @girudo.bsky.social FOR GAMES TOO IT'LL BE COOL I THINK COME WATCH
I missed something then. Or rather, someone. Who was the third?
Please, be the person that completes this zany pod of sketchy nonsense! If you want to but can’t, Red and Meaghan have another scribble-pod open for you.
I’m bringing a silly bracket 1 deck tonight!
You could, too!
Hell yeah, Kincaid! Join us!
We don’t have books in fat packs anymore because trickle down economics was always a lie.
I’d be happy to help out on the pinch.
🤣🤣🤣
Third up from bottom left
It me & Ayli.
