Thanks, Dave! πŸ˜€

For those unaware, I was inspired to make sort of a "sequel" to Dave's DNA Scrabblegram (below) and post it on Feb 28 for the anniversary of the discovery of DNA's double helix structure

See Dave's profile and check out his spectacular collection of 400+ Scrabblegrams!

@boatmancryptics.co.uk, see thread above, as well as Dave’s DNA Scrabblegram that I reposted yesterday

Sort of. Really, I just wanted to have DNA hidden backwards in the β€˜gram (not as a cryptic clue). But β€œrevolutionary” is used as a reversal indicator in cryptics, so the allusion is there!

Thanks, Dave! I looked up Feb 28 events, recalled your DNA β€˜gram, and was inspired to make a sequential sequel!

My initial drafts included the word DNA, but then I decided to have a β€œtwisted” DNA string hidden in the text instead. Can you find it?

Nice! I solved it with some letter reveals to speed up the process 😁

Since you post a Cryptick clue most days anyway, couldn’t you just have that one automatically show on the homepage?

It could be a trial for now and maybe later you’d develop it to include clues from others somehow? (I realize they’re not stored, so it might be a separate process)

It’s a great bit of transatlantic ursine literary history - look it up!

Did you know the bear was named after the city? (Or rather the character was named after a real bear who was named after the city)

19.02.2026 17:37 πŸ‘ 2 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

Yes, words with exactly two of each letter are second-order isograms (INTESTINES is great)

Of course, there are many reduplicative words (TSETSE, MURMUR, BERIBERI) and others that happen to repeat (TESTES, TARTAR, HOTSHOTS)

A #letterbank (no repeats) is called a heterogram or (first-order) isogram
