It’s a delight to have a birthday at the cusp of spring. The plants are all waking up to greet me!

As I begin trip #30 around the big burning ball of gas/nuclear fusion reactor I’d like us all to take a second to stop and touch the grass. You may even find some tiny blue flowers there. I have never known their name but they’ve always been one of my favorites.

Cut my hair in preparation for my grandma’s Celebration of Life and then I trimmed all of the cats’ nails because they were all sharp. For those keeping track, that’s countless strands of human hair and 36 feline claws

Further woes: too warm with jacket on, not cozy enough with jacket off; lab coat retains heat but is not cozy

Woes of a research scientist: I wrote the word “Balance” so many times today that I had to google it to make sure I was spelling it right because it started to look so wrong that I convinced myself that could not be the correct spelling

Glad I’m in my Visible Mending Era because being able to stall the inevitable loss of function in cheap clothes really helps me feel less bad about buying cheap clothes

We need to refresh our wardrobes when we can afford it but we really can’t right now and I don’t like buying cheap shit to wear because I like wearing my things for forever but alas, I also really don’t want to spend any more money

I said “idk I really wanna just go drop $100 at TJ Maxx” the other day and then a finger curled on the monkey’s paw and today I unfortunately had to instead drop $100 on mid quality clothes and accessories because KJ and I have NO IDEA what one wears to a Celebration of Life

God this is a mood, like I know I already made myself “fingerless mittens” but I want fingerless Gloves. Maybe with a fold over mitten top. Gotta dig through my yarn
